Hey Sistahs! I've been a bit preoccupied lately, and somehow I must have changed my notification options, because I haven't been getting emails to tell me when there's a new post.
Veronica--

Wow! What a difference 42 pounds makes, eh? It's amazing!!!
And about the chromium, the first time I tried taking it several years ago, it did nuttin' for me. But then I read that it is blocked by calcium, and so you need to take it several hours away from any dairy or calcium supplements. I've been taking 2 tablets (which I think is 400 mcg?mg? it's 400 of whatever the heck measurement they come in!), and it really kicked me off my plateau.
Carol--200 miles!

Wow! I'm impressed! You go girl!
Michele--Glad you had a wonderful trip, and I'm sorry to hear about your furbaby. We had an Akita about 11 years ago who developed a bizarre autoimmune condition where his system attacked the pigment in his eyes and skin. The skin part just made his nose go bald, but it made him go blind. The only treatment option was steriods, and with a new baby in the house (Riley was born the day after he was diagnosed--I literally was in the vet's office 9-1/2 months pregnant), putting a 150 dog on steroids didn't work out.
Larry's Girl--sounds like you are really off to a good start! 6 pounds! Wow!
Well, like I said, I have been preoccupied lately and I need a whine session I guess. A few months back, I noticed a really hard lump, a little larger than a big pea and rock hard, in my neck. I was actually feeling to see if my lymph nodes were enlarged from a sinus infection, and right behind the grape-sized lymph node was this.....lump. Well, my cousin assured me that she had the same thing once and it was nothing, so I let it slide. So while I was at the doc's office w/ bronchitis, I had him check it out. I really expected him to tell me it was nothing....but he used words like "lymphoma" and "biopsy" and "never good." He put me on some big-time-daddy antibiotics, but they didn't help. I go to a specialist Friday, and from there I guess they will remove the suspicious lymph node for a biopsy.
I am trying not to worry, because we don't know anything yet. But with 4 children ages 2-12, as well as the youngest having Down syndrome....well, you guys know where my mind keeps going. So please keep me in your prayers, and I'll let you know how my doc appt. goes.
Have a great day sistahs, and keep up the good work!
