Need Help In Choosing A Resort . . . Please

All stars, ugh. Don't send someone there! Those places are cheap and cheesey (no pun). But if bringing kids, maybe... But kids love the pools at the Yaught Club.

I thought they looked cheap too until the first time I stayed when I went with my sis.(They were within her budget). When I stayed there I was amazed at how much they really had to offer. My children are all grown but I love watching the little ones havimg so much fun there. And the place is just so Disney! When I first saw pictures of the ALL Stars I thought the huge icons were "gaudy". Now I love them. When our towncar drives up to our resort and I see those huge icons I know I am at Disney

You're really giving me some great food for thought here. I've just checked out the WL and as wonderful as it looks, it looks too much like home to us aw: . We live in the mountains of New Mexico and are surrounded all the time by wilderness, lodge-like homes and Native American influences everywhere. I think we need a change for this vacation. Do the rest of these resorts have rooms with private balconies? Unless they actually show a pic of someone out on a balcony, I've always assumed that there isn't one.

Thanks, NHPooh! I'll definitely check out the Travel Channel for the Disney Great Escape shows. Great idea! And . . . thanks for the warning on booking ASAP. I called this AM to book the Beach Resort and there were no available rooms for the days we wanted. Just as someone here advised me, the rooms went fast with this wine thing going on that week at/near Epcot. I checked out the POFQ, which is awesome, but no balconies. The WDW reservation guy gave me 3 options: a lagoon view room at the Poly, the Presidential Suite at The Boardwalk (eeek . . .way toooo pricey!) and a Deluxe Savannah Room on the fifth floor of the AKL. Talked to my DH and booked the ALK room. So, thank you all for your wonderful help and suggestions.
