Need help, here now - would first aid have

Maybe OP just wasn't sure if they had any kind of medical equipment, so she thought she would ask here first. If the answer was no, perhaps she would of left the park and went to a walk-in medical clinic.

All due respect, what would lead someone to believe that a First Aid location wouldn't have medical equipment?

I fell getting our of Dumbo and all first aid would do is give me an ice pack and told me to see my doctor. No bandages or Tylenol.

If you ask for pain meds/band-aids they will give them to you. They have RN's but no Dr on duty.

OK ... But she'd have to go right past First Aid to exit the park. So either way ...

I don't know that tweezers are really "medical equipment". Pretty much any basic first aid kit has a pair. It's not like she was looking for a nebulizer or specialized monitoring devices.

I guess my point is ... why do people (and it's not just OP) who have questions about WDW while they're AT WDW come to the DIS instead of just asking at the park? That just seems so odd to me.

This absolutely blows my mind too. :confused3

My 1st thought for the OP was...why not go to First Aid and ask?? In the time it would take to post and wait for a reply, you could have answered your question.

But, glad it worked out and your child is fine. :goodvibes

I usually don't stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, but I feel bad for the OP because if it was me, I would be hurt by these replies. They were trying to find out information to help their child, not asking everyone at pick at them for doing it.

People spend months on these boards asking questions and getting advice for their WDW trip. Is it wrong to feel a sense of community and to feel comfortable enough here to ask a question even if they had the option to ask someone else?

I personally don't understand why anyone would even question why the OP asked here. Really, who cares? You can choose whether to answer the question or not. But why try to analyze the reasoning? Answer (or don't) and move on.

I've only been on here about 5 months, but i've observed a ton helpful people who are friendly and kind and then there are those other people who seem to purposely go out of their way to make people feel stupid. I don't get it.

Is it common to get a tick at WDW? This would really freak me out. I know bugs are in Florida but I don't think I have ever read about ticks in the parks. Is this common?

Also, why can't people just give answers instead of criticize the questions?? Sometimes, I read posts that are kind of mean and you would think a group of Disney fans would be "happier" when discussing the happiest place on earth.

My thoughts exactly.

I also wondered about the tick. Curious if she got it during the vacation or if it was prior to it and just wasn't noticed until then.

Really? It took the OP 2 minutes to get an answer to the question. If she was all the way across the park from first aid, it would take more than 2 minutes to get there. Perhaps OP didn't know where first aid was located - I only know for MK because I used it once, but have no idea where it would be at Epcot or AK!

Two minutes is a lot quicker in my opinion...

Okay are we done with the snarky posts?

OP....we are not all like this. I promise.

Couldn't of said it better myself. Perhaps the OP was just wanting some support from her friends here on DIS. I think if I had a tick I would cry .

Asking the closest Cast Member probably would have taken even less time.

When did electronic communication overtake face-to-face conversation?

It took me longer than 2 minutes last time I was at Disney World to find a CM to ask if there were any QS restaurants serving breakfast. At last, I found the info online...and still didn't find a CM available to ask without waiting.

Personally I think 2 minutes is pretty quick - and who knows, she may have asked the question while walking toward the First Aid place...which she sure couldn't do while waiting for the CM to be finished with another guest or looking around for a CM to ask. The OP asked a question online and got a pretty immediate answer. Electronic communication overtook face-to-face question and answer sessions when it become a quicker way of getting an answer.

I also hope that other posters know they can get a very quick and accurate answer to their questions while at WDW online if there are no handy CMs. Remember, there are times when the parks are quite busy. Many people on the DIS are happy to answer a question and help someone out! OP please continue to ask questions here when you need to!
