I've heard that many people will bring an item (whether it's a pillowcase or frame matte, etc) to guest services on the first day of their cruise to be signed by all the characters.

1st--how many items can you hand them to sign?

2nd--I would love to bring a 12x12 scrapbooking sheet but have an 8x10 sheet of paper covering up where the picture would be and then have them sign my paper. Has anyone done this and if so, what's the easiest way to package it up so it won't get bent or ruined? Should I include many different colored markers? And did you just place a piece of paper in the middle (where the pic would go) and just put a note on it for them NOT to sign there? How does this work? This is our 1st Disney cruise and I would love to get a scrapbook page done with all the siggies. And if you have pics of it, please share.

I did this with frame mats a year and a half ago and it worked well. I placed probably 5 mats in a large firm, but padded envelope and wrote instructions on a sheet of paper that I put inside the envelope, as well as a brief sentence on the front referring to character autographs. I left the envelope at Guest Services on the day I boarded, after everyone was on board and things had calmed down after the ship left the port. The Guest Service people are great with this and very accustomed to these requests. They will give you recommendations, if you haven't provided enough instructions. They did tell me that the characters use their own pens and said not to include them. My autographs were in different colors and they did a great job.

With your a scrapbooking page, I would do the same thing and place it in a protective envelope or even make one, if you don't have one stiff or large enough.....maybe taping two pieces of 12 x 12" chip board on three edges, etc. Just give plenty of written instructions and maybe put a post-it note on with an arrow pointing to the area of the page to sign and, like you suggested a piece of paper over the area that you will have a photo (with a note on it saying a photo would be placed there. Again, show it to the Guest Service person and make sure they think it will be understood.

Good luck and have fun!!

Thanks so much. This is a wonderful idea and I'm glad I found out that you could have things signed. What a wonderful and FREE gift.

I just finished my New Years Eve Wonder scrapbook (114 layouts). I used one of the 12x12 file pockets for storing paper and place a piece of cardboard in it to prevent bending. I put a thank you note in it. When you take it to guest services, they will fix a post it note on it with your name, room number, number of items to autograph, if you have sent pens/how many and if you want princesses or fab five. You can have both. I sent my own pens. I choose a paper that looked like a desk blotter and added disney embellishment of Tinkerbell and title Dreams Do Come True at the bottom of the page. They signed the above the embellishments. It is the last page of the album.

We dropped off a Disney Princess book. All the characters signed the front and back pages. I just book it in a zip lock bag with our name and cabin # on a label.

oh i never thought to do a 12 x 12 page....how cool!!

i have done pillowcases (including a large body-sized pillowcase but they didn't sign the entire length) and frame mats. for the frame mats i had them individually in a large ziplock bag and had printed out instructions like "Princesses only please" and included the markers i wanted, i had bought a large packet of sharpie markers with lots of colors. expensive but in the end i had really nice frame mats, a couple were gifts and they were a hit!
