Need help from V&A experts.

As the packing of our suitcases slowly is coming along I wonder about the dress code at A&V.
I was wondering if a Dinner jacket is really necessary and demanded to get in.

If my husband wares a black shirt whit tie and black pants will he be turned away?
Its such a hassle to take a jacket across a whole ocean just for one ore two hours.

Yes, it's absolutely necessary to have a jacket on for V&A. You can go without a tie, but you cannot go without a jacket. Pack it!

It may be a sports jacket or suit jacket; a dinner jacket (or tuxedo) is not required but clearly would not be out of place.

Yes, if it's appropriate for a wedding, you shouldn't feel out of place. Pantsuits work fine.

But I agree with everyone else before me who stressed that men must wear a jacket (but not necessarily a tie). They will not seat any man who arrives without a jacket. This is the only place on property that strictly enforces a dress code.

Now I should add that V&A did (and I believe still does) have jackets available for men who arrive w/o one. They are all blue sportcoats that frankly looked pretty awful the few times we've seen them loaned out. One fellow had on light brown pants and a purple polo shirt. They loaned him a coat and he was allowed in, but he sure looked a mess.
And a pants suit is fine--Mrs U often will wear that to V&A.

Well I chewed a few days over the "problem".

Can you imagine how the jacket will look like when it has flown over the ocean and then for 14 days in and out the suitcase in every hotel across Florida

I think perhaps the most easy solution is just to buy a new one just before we are arriving at Disney.
