Does anyone know if the resort, CSR in this case, will keep the golf bags in the bell service area or do you have to keep them in your room the entire trip? Thanks.

Just a thought... my husband played golf last year and he rented their clubs and said they were VERY nice and almost new. This way, we didn't have to lug the clubs around.

Unfortunately the person going is my boss. I am sending him and 8 other guys down for a sales incentive trip. Since they always go to golf resorts they are used to someone handling the golf bags for them while they are there. I am trying to convert them to Disney Lovers so we can have more meetings down there. That said I want this to go as smoothly as possible with the golfing portion. I am only getting to send them to Disney this time because some of the guys don't golf and so I am sending them to the parks instead. I would like to be able to keep doing this trip at Disney because it has gotten such a great response from my sales guys. It all hinges on how the golfing side goes!!

i would like to know this info too. im trying to convince hubbby to finally go back. hes a huge golfer. trying to get a pro card this coming tuesday infact....fairy dust for him..:sunny: i told him he could golf everyday if he went. i would love to know how they handle the clubs.

Don't know if they still do it this way, haven't done it in a few years.

Upon check in, bellman has asked where I'd be playing golf and they would send the clubs directly to the course. When I call the course for a ride over, the clubs would be waiting for me on a cart when I get there.

I have been to Disney too many times to count - and played all 99 holes two or three times! When I arrive, I have Bell Services hold my golf bag until the first time I head over to a course. At that time, bell services will call a taxi for you (free) and transport your clubs and you to the course. If you are playing more Disney courses, just let the clubhouse know when and where - they will take the golf bag and transport it to the next course that you have a tee time at - even if that's a few days away. When you have played your last round of the trip, just take the golf bag back to the hotel with you and give it back to bell services - who will hold it until you head for the airport.

I always leave my golf travel bag with bell services - they will match up your travel bag with your golf clubs when you bring the clubs back. In the meantime, your clubs will be cleaned and available to you at your next course/tee time. No need to keep anything in your room.

Does that help?

Ellen and Bob NC,
You rock!! Thank you so much for the info! I don't know anything about golf so planning these outings drives me insane. I was so worried that the golf bags were going to be a problem. Thank you again!! I love these boards.

My fiance does the same as Ellen every year. The only change is now you only get a one-way taxi voucher - you must pay for your return trip to the resort.

When did Disney start making you pay for the return trip? My latest golf trip was in Feb 2004 (and will be playing again in Dec 2004) and have always asked for a taxi voucher from the club house. Never had a problem. When did the new policy take effect?

Thanks, Ellen

My fiance golfed four times at four different Disney courses from July 7-17 (2004) and had to pay for his return trips. Last year, he didn't. I'm assuming this a new change.

Thanks Julianne - I'll have to budget for the taxi ride for my December trip!

We just returned from our trip a week ago. We played at the Magnolia and Palm complex.

To go to the course, you will go to the bell services counter about 40 minutes prior to your tee time and tell them you need a cab. (You could go down the night before and tell them when you need one also) They will give you your voucher to pay for your trip.
You do not have to pay for your cab back to the resort. You will go to the desk in the club when you finish your round and tell them you have completed your round and need them to get you a cab back to your resort. They will call your cab and give you a voucher to pay for it. (Our driver always reminded us to get a voucher for our return trip.)
It was very quick and efficient.
It was also very enjoyable. We plan on playing again on our next trip. hopefully soon :)

For those who have let Bell Services hold their golf clubs for them, have any of you done this at the Value Resorts? Since we always arrive later in the evening, we've never had to wait for a room, thus they've never had to store our luggage. Last time, my dh kept his clubs in our room, and they took up a LOT of space in those small rooms. I guess I'm just concerned that, since they don't have a "true" Bell Services, if having them hold the clubs would go smoothly. Any input from anyone?

You didn't have to pay for cab ride back? My fiance played at Palm, Magnolia, Eagle Pines, and Osprey and was told that they no longer gave vouchers for return trips.

Edited to add: My fiance clarified that they no longer provide vouchers from Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge. He received vouchers from Magnolia and Palm. Either I wasn't listening (always a possibility) or he didn't specify (also a possibility).

NCDisneyMom, I've had the value resorts (Bell Services) hold my clubs and never had a problem. They are used to dealing with golf clubs and always retrieved them quickly and were willing to receive them when my golf was over for the trip - much easier than having them in those small rooms.

Thanks, Ellen! My dh treats his clubs like his 3rd baby, so I'm glad to hear you've had a good experience at the All-Stars. Last time, it was just us and our son, so it wasn't too bad with the clubs in the room. But...this time it will be the 2 of us, our son, and our daughter, complete with stroller and crib. We're going to be cramped enough as it is....I don't need his clubs taking up even more room! lol

If staying in a value resort, do you also get the taxi/voucher treatment? I had understood that "some" resorts offered it and others did not.

Thanks!

Exactly right. They will keep your clubs at the course for you if you want to play again, or they will ship them either to the Disney resort or another Disney course, free of charge. You can also get a free cab ride to and from the course if you are staying at a Disney resort and playing a Disney course. No worries.
