Need help from people who have gone at christmas time!

So I have no idea when it is is a good time to buy the flight. we are going from dec. 28 to jan. 2 this year and I don't know when to get the flight. they seem really expensive right now and I don't know if the prices are going to go down so I should wait or if I should try to buy it now. Plus, does anyone know about how much it will typically be. I really need some advice.

Waiting for airfare is like playing the stock market! Sometimes you look really smart by waiting, and sometimes, well...not so smart. Sometimes the price will go up, and sometimes it will go down.

Are you a gambler? My opinion is: if you are comfortable with the price now you should book it.

To be honest, I don't think you are going to find any bargains flying from Iowa to Florida over Christmas week!

In 2007 the best fairs were out after Dec 1 for Christmas.
Early in the year I found a $67.00 fair which I did not book.

This year is a gamble. With the bank crash & 2 airlines announcing major increases today it will be like playing the slot machines.
