Need help from double stroller owners! UPDATE ON PAGE 2

I know your request for information was regarding a side by side stroller....but as I have owned many strollers..in search for one that suited our family the best...I found that the Sit and Stand Stroller by Baby Trend was the best fit. It offered seating for two..one facing forward and one in the rear to either sit or stand (and ride).
I bought it from The Right Start, but noticed Target now carries that brand of stroller. It also comes with gear to attach a baby seat. I looked it up online it is going for $169 ( I paid $250 when it first came out).
It folds up bulky but was worth the hassle especially when shopping at the mall. The basket is a good size. I have 3 children...at one point they could all ride (now either they are heavier or I am just tuckered out!)....I would say the older child was about 45 pounds when it was too hard to push/steer. I had to abandon it for Macleran umbrella strollers (taller, holds up to 50 pounds, folds very compact with carrying strap).

Now that I am leaning towards the Maclaren Twin Rally (which I'm thinking doesn't exist for 2007) I found out that if you don't purchase a maclaren from an authorized maclaren retailer they won't honor their warranty. I've sent another e-mail asking for a list of their authorized retailers.

There is a Maclaren Triumph for 2007, but babiesrus doesn't carry that either. Just the techno, which is way too much. Money and extras.

I can't address things starting to fall off of it issue because we have only had it a little over a month but as far as the basket dragging with a few bottles of water...totally false. I have had a full diaper bag, a few bottled drinks, and shopping bags and there was no problem with the storage compartment. So that claim is false, I have several friends who have had older models for a few years and they haven't experienced theirs falling apart either. I absed mine on friends purchases, I'm often leary of review boards.

I'd go with the Maclaren. I have Twin Traveler (now called Twin Techno) and it is AMAZING!!!! It folds like a regular umbrella stroller folds. It is pretty compact as far as doubles go! I had the Aria Twin and had to return it THREE TIMES! That's when I decided NO MORE! The storage basket underneath RIPPED on EACH stroller. If you put anything heavier than a diaper in there, it drags on the ground and puts a hole in it! The cup holder NEVER worked and it was SO hard to push. The canopies ripped. The belt got jammed and I couldn't lay one of the seats down. My list goes on and on and on. I wanted to love the stroller (I REALLY did...it was SO LIGHT!), but it had WAY too many problems. There is NO WAY I should have had to return it 3 TIMES. It seemed very cheaply made compared to the Maclaren. I guess that's why it was so light. :confused3

Maclaren's hold up to 55 pounds PER SEAT (even more). The combi and Inglesnia only hold 40-45 pounds per seat. You will get more use out of the Maclaren!

Keep checking ebay...I paid $160 for mine BRAND SPANKIN NEW. And this is for a $369 stroller!

Good luck with your decision. I can't wait to hear which one you will choose! popcorn::

Yeah I really like that the maclaren holds so much weight...but then I think, do I really need it? My kids are small. Even my 6 year old doesn't weigh close to 50 pounds. :rotfl: I just wish the maclaren had that 3rd handle in the middle.(like the inglesina)I REALLY like that idea.

I honestly can't decide between the Maclaren twin rally, twin triumph, or the Inglesina twin swift. I wish their were more reviews on the Inglesina, I can't find more than a few. That would probably help.

We also went to Toys R Us and had the same problem with the 2007 model of the Combi stroller. But they had the 2006 floor model on clearance. I couldn't believe the difference in steering and pushing. The 2006 model is so much better. The person helping us said they changed the wheels on the new model.

Anyway - we bought the 2006 floor model - $250 stroller for $150. It looks brand new and works wonderfully. We took it to the Mall of America a few weeks ago and it fit in all of the stores just fine.

another vote for the Maclaren Twin Techno! We just returned from Disney with ours and it's a dream! I was able to push my DD4 and DS3 in the double Mac with no problems -- they weigh about 70 lbs combined. I've tried lots of strollers before finally buying my Macs and the only regret is that I didin't buy them sooner! (we also have 2 single triumphs & I recently upgraded my twin Mac to the Techno b/c of the higher weight limit -- can you tell I have a stroller addiction?!) ;)

We went back to the store and try the combi and mac again. We realized that DH hadn't unlocked the middle wheel on the combi. Pushed much better, but felt way too wobbly. So I decided on the mac. The only thing the inglesina has that the mac doesn't is the middle handle. So I ordered a twin rally. 219 no tax, no shipping. Comes with a rain cover. I couldn't have got it cheaper, but I bought it from Maclarens authorized dealers so if there were any problems I could have it taken care of.

Thanks for you help everyone!
