We are coming Nov 27- Dec 4. My family (myself, dh, ds 12, dd8) want to stay on property for the first time ever. I am having a hard time committing to a specific property. Looking at the mods and possibly WL. I am trying to budget somewhat so we can do everything we want this visit. I am also hoping I get a postcard in the mail again for discount rooms. I am looking for some direction. I have been checking on line alot. (example CS only has suites available for the time and that is to expensive) Help me please to figure out which property is best for me and my family. :confused3

First step might be to establish a budget for the trip. How much do you want or can you spend? The moderates would fit your family and they are all very nice.

Will you want to spend a lot time doing things at the resort or will the trip mainly be the parks?

Have you and your kids looked at the planning dvd or on-line pics of the resorts? What look appeals to you? So much of the appeal of the resort is based on what look appeals to you.

I suggest CSR as it is somewhat between the mods & the deluxes plus it has a great pool that I imagine your kids would love.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of the mods again though I'm taking a second trip to CSR in the fall because my budget doesn't allow me to go to a deluxe and do all the things I want to do!

Don't know if this has been any help.

I would agree to start a budget and figure out what you really want to do.

Are you going to the parks from open to close?
Do you use any amenities at the resorts, other than the beds?
How much does cost factor in?
Do you want the dining plan?
Do you want to do extras like, MVMCP, Cirque, or the water parks?
Do you want to park hop, etc.??
Do your kids want to swim and have a water slide????

Sit down and get some basic questions answered. Once you know your resort category then have your kids help, if it is a surprise, then DH.

We have stayed at Port Orleans and Wilderness Lodge.. both are very nice.. If you stay at port orleans you can use pools at both the french quarter and riverside (french quarter is a themed pool, but both have slides)...

Wilderness Lodge has nice pools, babysitting, you can take a boat over to the magic kingdom or Ft wilderness... It is very nice and worth the $..

I'm flying in on Dec. 3rd and staying at CS. We are not staying in suite. Maybe try getting a quote from AAA? I really like CS, they get my vote!

Here's what I did to choose this time.

I went to a couple of websites (including this one of course), and made a list of all the resorts I thought sounded good for us.

I then made a Pros/Cons list for each resort until I found the one that had the most Pros and the least Cons.

I ended up with POR - which had no Cons. ;)
