Need Help - Flowers with meaning

My brother is in the sandbox, and I know if he was stateside he'd send his girlfriend flowers for Sweetest Day. I decided I'm going to do it for him, cutting it close, I know. When he was at his PDS, he sent her flowers fairly often and I'm sure she misses it. I'm picking my ds up from school in a little while and I'm going to leave early so I can stop at a florist. What type of flowers should I get? I'd like something with meaning, but I have no idea which flowers mean what. I'm looking for love, miss you, strength, hope, anything else that's pertinent and positive. I'm sure she'll like anything because of the gesture, and my brother was never able to see the flowers he sent her anyway, just trusted the florist, lol.

Sorry I can't help you with the flower selection but I just wanted to say I think what you are doing for your brother is sweet. I think his girlfriend will be thrilled with whatever she receives.

Aside from my dh, my brother is my best friend and I love his girlfriend. I ended up getting a fall bouquet. I didn't leave as early as I intended, my 4yo ds lost his turtle (fake but pretends it's real) and HAD to find it. So I went to the florist closest to the school, which I'd never been to before. It was nice, just not a large variety - fall colored flowers, roses, carnations. The bouquet was beautiful though. Orange lilies, single red rose, white carnation, and some yellow mums. Her mom (who I adore) is giving it to her tomorrow.

Next time, I will plan ahead! lol!
