Okay....I know this is discussed on here frequently but I don't really understand. We have never flown SW but are might use that for a cheaper option. ( We have to drive 5hrs to Denver to get good prices so I thought I would check SW )

Anyway....do you actually purchase your fare and then you have an option if it becomes avail to get it cheaper?? I am so confused! Any explanation would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

If, let's say, you purchase a non-ding fare right now, and then a ding far opens up that's cheaper, you can cancel your original reservation (make sure that the Ding fare is available!) and book the Ding fare, have the difference left as credit for a future flight.

You can also do this with just the regular fares, as they change all the time. I can't tell you how many times I have canceled and rebooked! :rotfl: Some people suggest that you just book one ways, though, because sometimes Dings will only open up for one portion of your trip. I personally don't do this since one time when I did I was one of the lucky ones "chosen" for additional security screening and they said it probably had something to do with the one way.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Sorry to hijack this thread but I noticed that SW has cheap fares for one way of my trip and Airtran the other way. Is it possible to book one way with each airline
