Hi Everyone. I also posted this on the theme park strag. thread, but I would like dvcers opinions. We are dvc members so the rush to see everything every time isn't as intense.
We've gone early Oct., Halloween, Early Nov., late Nov(into Dec), mid June, mid July.
Now I was thinking Feb vacation, late March (for my triplets bday), mid-late Aug. (other daughters bday), or Easter week.
What do you all think? if it matters my kids are/will be 15 & 3.

Any comments on why you picked when you did would be helpful also.

Thank you all so much.

edited to add: Dh doesn't like big crowds, I know that dampers the Easter week, but perhaps the weather/activities/parade are worth it. What do you all think?

I voted end of summer, for me someone also from mass. our kids dont go back to school yet when alot of the country seems to and they start with cheaper season mid august. slightly cheaper and SLIGHTly less crowded IMHO, although now that I think about it it is also the only time in your choices that is in Hurricane season hhhmmmmm anyways good luck

Ifeel like Goldilocks saying this, but my reasoning is:
Aug - Too hot
Feb - Too cold
March - Just right

Easter week - not with a hubby who hates crowds

Of your options, I chose February. DD(2.5) and I just took a quick impromptu trip this past February (4th-7th) and had really good weather and low crowd levels. It got a little chilly at night, but a jacket fixed that.

I've been during Easter week and hope to never have to go during that time again. The weather is nice and the landscaping is beautiful but the CROWDS are HUGE. Oh yeah, the Easter parade at MK was really fun as well (assuming you can find a nice viewing location). ETA...just saw your ETA and, to me and DH, the crowds were NOT worth it. I'd only choose a busy holiday week if I could not go at any other time.

The end of March might still be busy with Spring Breakers, but probably not as bad as mid-March would be and the weather would probably be great.

August is HOT. I'm from a climate that is similar to Orlando's and know how miserable that hot, humid weather can be. It also makes tempers SOAR (even if you can control your own, be wary of the other HOT, CRANKY WDW travelers). And as was mentioned before, hurricanes can be a factor...you just never know.

Have a great trip whichever time-period you opt for!

Thanks Goldilocks!!! :rotfl2:

I picked mid-late August. Yeah it is hot and you may get hit by a hurricane, but on the other hand, the crowds really start to thin out by this time. At all the other times you mentioned it is pretty crowded.

Picked February. First half of month mixed crowds, last half of month larger crowds as the winter/spring breaks are getting under way. Weather is fine with highs around low to mid 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

March crowds are growing quite large. Weather highs mid to upper 70s and lows low to mid 50s. This would be my second pick.

Easter week crowds are a nightmare on main street! No way I would go then.

Mid to late August crowds are mixed as the edge is off of the summer travel with many schools and colleges opening then. Weather is hazy, hot and humid. Highs are low 90s and lows are low 70s. Expect daily afternoon rain. The three top rain months are June, July and August. Better enjoy that kind of weather to go then.

Early Feb the crowds are low.

I hate crowds so any busy time is out for us-I survived Easter week once w/3 kids under 5 and being pregnant(never again)
We like the last week of August for a last trip before school starts and lower crowds. The heat and rain don't bother us but snow does (where I live).
I just tried the last week of Feb./1st week March, this year and liked it pretty much but I'd like to try early Feb. next year.

Good luck deciding-maybe try them all?lol :teeth:

I voted for August. This will be our 3rd trip in August. It is hot but so is June and July which were much more crowded. Forget Easter unless you are planning Mass school vacation which next year is a few weeks after Easter. We are actually going to try it next year because its not Easter week. Not sure about March but my concern for February are not only the crowds, but the weather there and more importantly here....Image getting stuck in a storm and not being able to fly out!! Airfare for August will most certainly beat out all of the above as another bonus! Happy Planning!
