Need help deciding AAA or AP for December 06

I'd really appreciate anyone's input with this. I am planning a trip for 12/19-12/28 of this year. We want to stay at WL. It will be myself, DH, DD6, DD3 and DS1. I am trying to figure out which way to book:

-AAA room only discount
-AAA MYW w/Dining
-AP discount (if and when it becomes available)



As of now, I am not a member of AAA nor do I have an AP. Since I am not a member of AAA, I can't price the cost on their website for either a room or package. I know the room discount is 15%? I have researched what the previous AP discounts have been for the time I want to go and need to figure out if the discount will offset the cost of not having the dining plan. We definitely saved money using the dining plan our last trip and it was nice to not have to think about or budget our food money.

I want to do something soon because I know December will book quickly.
If I book a package through AAA, can I cancel later if I decide to do an AP? Are there any penalties. Are there a limited amount of AAA packages available? Should I just book a room through CRO?

If anyone who is a AAA member has time, I'd really appreciate a price for a MYW with Dining Plan for my dates. I'd also be interested in everyone's thought or opinions on what I should do. I have really confused myself!

You can not book a package with AAA on line, you must call them directly for a quote. I tried to check the room only dates for you but it will not allow me to use your date, I get a message that the date are over 331 days in the future.
You can certainly book a package now or a room only now through CRO, the cancellation date for packages is 45 days prior to your arrival date and the room only cancellation is 5 days before your arrival date. So you can book now at the rack rates and then cancel if a better deal comes along. Of course there are only limited number of room available with the AAA rate or with the AP rate. Sometimes with the Wilderness Lodge it is hard to get a discount on a standard room, only the woodsview or courtyard view available.

We are AAA and checking in 12/19 but are leaving 12/26. For 2 adults, a 9yr old and a 6 yr old, for those nites, with dining and 6 day tickets our total was 4000.00. I am not sure of the nightly rate, but this will give you an idea.

Keep in mind the WL is VERY popular over Christmas so discounted AP rooms will probably go very quickly if they are even offered.
