I have the big tripod coming out tonight. I will play around a bit more when the kiddos go to bed. I love to see the trees. Thanks everyone for the helpful tips.
It really must have something to do with the colored lights, because the white ones were so easy! After seeing this thread I decided to try taking some longer exposures of my tree at home (white lights). I set up my Gorillapod on the steps in the living room and here are the three different exposures I took:
1. Got some starbursts on this one
2. I really like that some of the limbs on this one are shadowed.
3. This is the brightest shot of all, which I think helps show off the ornaments the best.
we have a multi color led light tree, white wall background. I just can't get it right. If I use a flash then I lose the light effect, if I use no flash then it just seems too noisey. Here is a sample.
kaffinito, yw. I am glad I did too, except for the fact I am dog tired and sick, I cant sleep, so I might as well take pics. Here is another full tree attempt, will post some ornaments in another post, still waiting for them to load to pb
