Need help/advice about planning last minute trip home

Long story short, this winter has been horrible and we're in the need of a Disney fix!

Unfortunately, my husband has all of our DVC paperwork with him today, so I can't look these things up myself.

We would like to go June 8 - June 11, we just need one studio, and we don't care if we stay at our home resort or someplace else. Our use year is June, and like I said, this is a very last minute planned vacation.

How does the 60 day rule come into play here? And, have you been able to plan a vacation like this on short notice? I don't want to get myself all hyped up to go, and then not be able to make it happen.

Any help would sure be appreciated!

As long as you're booking a DVC resort, the 60 day doesn't apply. But if you're trying to book a non-DVC hotel at WDW, you can't do it using points. The member website states:

Please note: 60-Day Rule
You cannot book and travel on The Disney Collection (excluding Disneyland® Resort hotels), Concierge Collection or Adventurer Collection vacations within the last 60 days of your Use Year.

Im not sure just how short the notice was, but last year we went on very short notice. We ended up switching resorts mid-way through the trip because we couldnt stay at the BCV the whole time, but we could have stayed anywhere else the whole trip.

I just called MS last Tuesday and booked a 1 BR at BCV for June 9-11th, after my DD and I decided we wanted to go for a Star Wars weekend. There was no problem with availability, and BCV isn't my home resort.

I also found a decent price on a flight. I think June is still far enough in the future that you shouldn't have too many problems.

If you have a June UY, your trip would be in the beginning of your UY. So you would be using '06 points, '05 points that have been banked, or even '07 points that will need to be borrowed because you used up all of your '06 points.
