We are doing an intimate wedding and will have around 10 people including us at the wedding. Since disney does not provide a reception we are trying to figure out where to eat. We welcome all ideas or reviews from past vists. I have been told that you cant eat in the parks unless you have tickets. Another person told me you can if you tell disney they can arrange it. So if eating outside the parks is what we have to do to avoide buying tickets for everyone then we will do that. But we are looking for a place that has variety i guess you would say. Something that has steak, and chicken and other entrees as well. Fish is ok as long as they have steak and chicken too. Just dont want to pick a resturant that has really bad food (read bad reviews of rainforest cafe before but cant find reviews of the others) or is not set up to handle guests in a party of 10.
Thanks for the help

I am not sure how Disney does their weddings, but I have seem intimate weddings set up in areas overlooking the lake in the Epcot area...but probably for more than 10. Have you asked if they would do something for a party as small as 10 people????? Also, you might want to post something on the wedding board, maybe some have suggestions for you..

Not sure how much you want to spend, but doesn't V & A have a private room you can do a small reception in??

We're going to be having our "reception" at the end of this month at Jiko, just made a regular dinner reservation for it, nothing really special though :) We're going to have 12 total. My fiance and I chose it because it's our favorite restaurant.

You might want to go to Allearsnet and check our the menus there. That way you can get an idea of what variety each place offers. Depending on your budget I would consider CG, Kona, Jiko , and maybe Ohana. Where is the ceremony and what time of day are you talking about for the reception? This might make a difference to you choice.

I would say try & get a restaurant that has a small more private area that you could put your party of 10 in. Jiko , Flying Fish & Yachtsmen Steakhouse have little areas that I know of.

It depends on where you are getting married. If you are in the Boardwalk / Beach Club / Yacht Club Area I would go to the YACHTSMAN. If you are getting married at the Grand Floridian I would go to Narcossis or Citricos. Have a great time and congratulations.

We are getting married at 4pm at Sea BReeze point and since we have photography for 3 hours i think we are going to have dinner around 6 or 630. then we have to be at the beach club at 830 for our private boat to epcot illuminations.
I love steak but i want to please everyone else too. My sister who is preaching the wedding does not eat steak shes a chicken fan through and through. ANd my grandparents are kind of picky sometimes so i really want everyone to be happy. It makes for a better evening. I would appreacite it if someone did that for me. But to me if i dont like something i can always eat later but you know i just want to make everyone happy. Instead of being selfish and saying everything my way.

has anyone ate at the rainforest cafe? im curious if their food is any good?

I know this has nothing to do with Disney but i was wondering if the hard rock cafe would be a cool place but its always noisy and might not be a good place to have a reception.

first off... you should be selfish, it's your wedding... that is the only day of your life you can be selfish and it's okay :)

That said... if $ is no object, Victoria & Albert's has a private room that would be perfect for a wedding reception of 10 people.
but, since you are getting married in the Epcot area, and if you want to stay in that location, then how about Flying Fish, or Yachtsman Steakhouse (both of these restaurants can be loud, although lovely and great food. Yachtsman has various items on the menu other than steak.

Or, if you want to purchase park tickets for all, then the Bistro in Epcot's France pavilion is very intimate (it's upstairs above chef's de france)

whatever you do, have a wonderful wedding day! I am sure you will, pretty hard not to, especially with a little extra Disney Magic!!! :)

Given your plans, I think Yachtsman's or even the Yacht Club Galley would work well. I would be sure to mention when you make your dining reservation that it is your wedding dinner.

At the YSH, there are various seating areas. I saw one large group seated at a long table in a smallish section. The Galley has some alcoves that would work well I think and the menu there is more moderately priced as well as more varied.

I think the Yachtman is your best choice. You are not going to want to go far if you have to be at the BC at 8:30.

If I were planning my wedding reception, I would do it at BlueZoo, which is very convienent to you wedding, pix & the marina. Even tho they specialize in seafood, they have offerings for everyone. The atmosphere is very chic & I have never notcied children in there.

Congrats on your upcoming marriage!

We had our reception at the Yachtsman Steakhouse after our intimate vow renewal. The restaurant provided personalized menus with the price removed and had our names and date printed. We had a group of 10 and we were set up in a quiet section of the restaurant. Service was excellent! I would check out the AllEars menus to see if you like what they offer. By the way, I arranged this myself by calling the manager of the restaurant. HTH!

Like Janis we had our dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Our wedding at SBP was at 3:00 pm and our reservation was for 5:30 pm. Remember it's harder to get a reservation in the middle of the dinner rush for a table of 10. We were recommended to come in at opening that way they were able to put us in a quiet corner and have the table decorated. Remember your photography starts about an hour before the ceremony.

Boy, you would think if you were booking an intimate Disney wedding they could at least get you whatever reservation you wanted for dinner!!
