Need Frogg Togg help!!!!!!

Just got back recently and IMHO I thought they worked out really well. I put them in a ziploc bag damp and threw ice over it in the morning.

As for as storage I did get mildew on the first one I had while storing it in it's container. So now I just dry them flat and store them that way.

I purchased Artic Cool towels in a two pack from Costco. They dry soft and I am looking forward to testing them out next week in the world!

Thanks for all the great advice. Stupidly, I threw the container away. I will dampen them the day we leave and put them in a Ziploc and then pu tt them on the shelf in the hotel every night and dry them out.

I bought two from Dollar Tree this spring, used them on a hike in the mountains - they worked great - so far, no problems. What can you lose for a buck apiece!!

Don't leave stored wet too long. Mine mildewed.

Mine mildewed also. I purchased new ones, rinsed them before I used them the first time, washed them out and folded them so they could fit back into their container for storage and let them air dry before placing them back into their container.

Can I ask a slightly related question? What do people do with these? I understand that they are towels that feel cool...do you wrap them around your neck? Head?
We babywear, and I put one between me and Mr. Littles or between his back and the carrier. Way better than an ice pack or wet towel.

We let ours dry out totally out of forgetfulness. It's not that big of a deal to get them wet and cool again. No mildew either.

Someone said they're not better than a normal dish towel. Hah! Not true at all. The frogg togg was a life saver for me last September. It will hold water for hours in extreme heat and will stay cool. I usually had it hanging on my head or around my neck and down my shirt. You can hardly tell it is holding water (because it doesn't drip like a normal wet towel would) unless you wring it out, in which case a ton of water will magically come out.

As far as storage, I rinse it out when I get back to the hotel, wet it, put it in a ziploc bag and store it in the refrigerator. It's ice cold and ready to go in the morning. I would end up taking it out of my bag about 1 or 2 hours after we get to the park.

Storing at home for a long period... First I wash it just like clothes and dry it in the dryer. Then, I take it out, wet it just enough so that it's not "hard" and fold it up into a square about 6x6 inches and leave it sitting out about a week until it dries, usually flipping it once a day. Once it's dry, you can store it all year without the fear of it mildewing.

I bought some of these.... they are so nasty IMHO- they mildew if you fold them up wet, and they dry hard as a rock and unpackable if you lay them out to dry. My Dh did the bleach soak to get the mildew out (ew) but I am returning these to the store....
