Okay, so I know my title isn't very informative, but I don't know how to make it better. Sorry! :rolleyes1

First of all, I just want to say hello to everyone - this is my first post on the Weddings board, and I'm glad to be here! :wave2:

I have an interesting situation, and I was wondering if you-all could help me figure out what to do. My fiance and I want to get married at WDW in August. However, their wedding packages just don't work for us. We've both been married before, and so we don't really feel entitled to a "real" wedding. On the other hand, we don't want to go to a courthouse and see a JP either - we want something more magical than that. But it will likely just be the two of us, and so there's no need for the reception, etc., that the packages provide.

Is it possible to get married out at WDW without having to do one of their wedding packages? Does anyone know what my options are? I'm sure I can call the WDW wedding planners and ask them, but thought I'd see if any of you could help before I made that call.

Or should I just give up on the whole idea and get married on the beach or something (we'll be staying in Daytona)?

hiya and welcome to the boards!
everyone is really nice on here so dont hesistate if you need to ask anything, i've found people here are really helpful.
you could book an intimate wedding add on, i think the price is around $1700 ish but i'm sure someone can tell you for sure.
hope this helps
karen

Last years intimate add on price was $2300.00 and I think it went up for this year.
Disney does not allow weddings to be performed on site without going through Fairy Tale Weddings.

I am not 100% on this, but I have read in previous posts that you can hire your own officiant and have the wedding performaed in your room, maybe on a balcony overlooking something beautiful...

Now that's just cool! Unfortunately, we're staying in Daytona, so if we went to WDW, we'd be driving in that morning. So that won't work for us, but that is a really cool idea. :bride:

Ive read on here that people have been seen/heard of doing this but its very much frowned upon by Disney.

We're having an intimate add on wedding at the Wedding Pavilion and it's only the two of us...extremely intimate! :flower:

eblondie, LOVE your avatar! :sunny:

I want to hear more about your wedding - it sounds like something that would work for us! Will you PM me with the details - price, how to go about getting that, etc? Thanks!!!!

DH and I had both been married before, but we felt that we deserved a "real" wedding just as much as the next person! We wanted something very intimate, but could not afford the Disney wedding so we found a lovely little chapel in Kissimmee and married there instead! We stayed at WDW, honeymooned there, but married off-site and it was perfect for us...

We plan to renew our vows in a full blown Disney wedding also! Just not sure if it will be for our 5 year or 10 year anniversary yet...

Good luck!

disney offers intimate wedding for groups as small as the two of you to 11. the prices range from an intimate add on (which is if you had your room & tickets booked on your own) then there's the regular intimate wedding. thje intimate wedding ranges from $2300+. you also might want to look into justmarried at the swan&dolphin at wdw or orlando weddings which have many sites including gardens & churches in the area & can customize a wedding for you two or you & family. worse comes to worse you can always honeymoon at disney. just because you were married before doesnt mean you dont deserve that dream wedding & happiness now. best of luck with your plans.
