Need DLP advice from (patient) experts.......

Here's the background.............my DD has moved to Dublin to get married and go to Law School there. I'll be visiting them during the summers. Neither she nor I have ever been to DLP, although we've been to WDW many, many, many times (yeah, lots ). Her then-husband has NEVER been to ANY Disney park (can ya' believe it? ).
Now the questions..............
1. Are there "deals" available for summer visits (June 'til September) (room only) either at a Disney hotel or a nearby one, and if so, when/where would they be found?
2. Same question for ticket "specials.
3. Would SHE get a better deal booking from Ireland, or I from the US?
4. How many days would you suggest for a thorough visit (she and I Disney, and her then-DH is a perfect candidate to become another Disney Nut)?

Most people book packages to DLP which includes your tickets.

There are special deals which come out every year but no one knows what it is going to be or for when - its just a matter of keeping an eye open and its usually posted on here. These deals can happen at any time of year so there is a good chance you can get something for the summer. Last summer we got 40% off which worked out cheaper than getting room only which is what we needed really as we had APs.
Current deals are nights free and 30% off but none of these will cover next summer.
Some deals are only for certain countries so again its a matter of keeping a eye out and checking deals from USA and Ireland and seeing which is the better one
