Do all rooms have balcony's or something of that sort? I read somewhere that someones little child tried to climb the railing when they had the slider open so they kept the slider shut and opened the windows. Where are the windows located if there is a huge sliding door?

Also, what tower has the biggest standard room? We will need the 2 beds plus we are taking our pack n play for the baby so we want decent space. Which tower has the best view of the parks, specifically of the fireworks? Which floor would you need to be on or at least higher to have the best views? And can you have both, a big standard room and a great view??

I don't know where the person claims they "opened a window" in the DLH. All rooms I've ever stayed in were sliding glass doors. Also, there are Pack N Plays in every room at all Disney resorts. No need to bring yours from home.

You want Dreams for best DTD/Park views - a lot of people like the higher rooms - 5th floor and up would be my guess, although all the Dreams park views would be fine - nothing really blocking fireworks. If you want a king suite with a sofa, the Wonder Tower has park view rooms on the end That was great for fireworks, because when you opened the sliding door, you could hear the fireworks music from the Paradise Pier pool deck. I believe that they also play the fireworks music on all the hotel TVs, so you can turn it on. (This is definitely true for the GCH, but not sure for the DLH.)

Hope that helps. More folks may have other thoughts.

So do the rooms have balconies? I thought they didn't... but that would be awesome!

What standard view would you request for the quietest room? Any ideas?

Thanks!
Kim

They don't really have a balcony, just a "balcony rail", so you can still open the door and get fresh air.

Quietest room - parking lot view in the Wonder Tower. It's the very back of the hotel overlooking the DTD visitor lot. Maybe also the parking lot views in the Magic Tower (the building that the Front Desk is in). That one also has grat pool views that I thought were somewhat quiet, too.

The "pool view" in the Wonder Tower has the great sound of rushing waterfalls when you open your sliding door, too, as you are right above them. The waterfalls are one of my favorite places in the DLH.

Here's some pics of the room & balcony. We're in the Wonder Tower on the 9th floor, pool view. We had to queen beds, Pack n Play and a daybed. We fit nicely, the 5 of us. :)

Aaah, I see! Thanks!! I think we best keep that door bolted... my boys would think it was fun to climb the fence!!
