My 18 y.o. sister is a wonderful human being but a horrible eater. Our eating bugdet for this trip is very low as all she really eats are hamburgers, pizza, and plain grilled chicken. I would like to take her to a nice, sit down meal as a treat though. Here is my dilemma - all the restaurants I really like and enjoy such as CG I don't think she would like. She is picky and I mean picky - no sauce on her grilled chicken or steaks, likes potatoes but few veggies, no fish, etc. If forced to try something new, there is a small chance she will like it, but probably not and I don't want to pay a lot of money for something she won't enjoy.
I orginally made an dinner ADR for Boma figuring I can't go wrong with lots of meat and the set price but am now reconsidering. She likes shrimp but doesn't like the peel and eat kind, I don't think she likes scalloped potatoes and she definitely does not like bread pudding. She does like steak so I though of Le Cieller, but although the food is great the decor is very similar to a restaurant she like to go to at home.
I would like something where the decor is different, the environment is Disney, and there is a selection of food she may actually eat. I should mention that she hasn't been to WDW in over a decade and this is going to be our girls only sister weekend as I am moving to another state in spring. I really want this to be a special time for the two of us and especially for her. Coral Reef keeps coming to mind since they have steak and a lovely view but I keep second guessing and feel totally lost.
Does anybody have any suggestions for a picky teenager?

Thanks!

Kat

Hello...How about Sci-Fi Dine In at MGM? The burgers and fries are good and the atmosphere is truly one of a kind :flower2: Or the Concourse Steakhouse at the CR might be good as well.

Here are a couple of ideas:

Whispering Canyon - great atmosphere, fun time, relatively simple menu, go with the skillet, mostly meats, fairly plain, but good. (Search for a thread on this board for details or allearsnet.com for menus)

Beirgarten at Epcot - Great floor show every 30 minutes, the atmosphere is great, like an Octoberfest evening, complete with architecture and a moon. The food is German, but with offerings such as rotisserie chicken, sausage and breaded chicken (schnitzel, which is chicken in a plain breading), as well as some salads, and bread, such as pretzel bread to die for (again, simple, but not found at many restaurants), and if she is really picky, she can take from the kids buffet items the mac and cheese and chicken nuggets.

Ohana - skewered meats, without sauces. She may not be crazy about the side dishes, but it is served family style, so she only has to take what she wants, and maybe she'll be tempted to try something new. The bread pudding, is more like cinnamon bun bread, to which you can add the caramel-banana sauce if you want to. Or she could just eat the vanilla ice cream on the side.

You could still do Boma with the kids buffet items available if she didn't want the other items, although I'll bet she'll eat the prime rib or try some of the breads or other meat offerings.

MGM's 50's Diner - Does she like fried chicken? She can get it here, but the waitstaff (mom and dad) will tease her eating habits like crazy, so maybe not :)

Sci-Fi - Food not bad, IMO not great. But great atmosphere :)

Those are just a few, maybe I'll let someone else give some input now :)
