Hi. I am leaving for Disney in two weeks and I need help. I am looking for a diaper bag or any bag that would accomodate all the stuff I will be carrying. I have a 13 month old DD, 9yr old DS, and 7yr old DD. So I need to be able to carry diapers, wipes, change of clothes for baby, sunscreen. I would like to be able to stow it beneath the stroller or on the stroller, so I don't have to carry it all the time. I did a search on older posts, but did not come up with much.

Thanks so much!
Christal

We went last year with a 4 yr old and 15 month old. I had the Vera Bradley diaper bag, and another VB tote purse. Obviously I used one at a time, but both came in handy, and both were able to hang on our Maclaren stroller. I usually did like you said, a couple of diapers, pack of wipes, extra change of clothes, hand sanitizer, sippy cups and some little snacks. Both bags were able to accomodate both, but if you're not into VB then just any backpack will do. Don't go overboard in supplies though, because the Baby Stations are stocked with anything and everything you may need if you run out, or forget something!

Are you more comfortable with a back pack?

Will you be taking the diaper bag with you when you wait for rides/attractions?

I would take a large ziplock bag and stick one change of clothes for the youngest two and stick that in the bottom of the stroller, I'd probably add a diaper in there also.

Then pack everything else into the bag you choose. That way you don't have to carrry around stuff you don't need while on rides and attractions. I doubt anyone would bother taking spare clothes from the stroller especially when they can see that's what they are.

I asked the same question a few months back when the strap on my diaper bag broke, and I was in the process of planning our trip. The best advice I got was getting a backpack. I found a really nice one at Kmart, and it has lots of pockets inside and pockets on the outside for bottles etc. Everything I need fits inside, and it has big comfy straps so it doesn't hurt my shoulders. Especially now with back to school, there should be some really nice ones out there for pretty cheap =)

I just bought another Skip Hop bag to use for our upcoming vacation and they are so handy, I go the Dash this time I've tried othersin their line but needed seomthing bigger. They are on sale all over the web right now in various colors for only $30.

Holds a ton, I have in it right now 4 diapers, 1 huggies 32ct pack of wipes, 1 pk Boogie Wipes, 3 ziplocs for any accidents, tube of sunscreen, 1 bottle, pack of liners, extra bottle cap, (there are inside and outside bottle pockets) sippy in an outside pocket, hand lotion, wallet, coupon pack, changing pad, 1st aid kit, a baggie of snacks for each child, antibactrial gel & spray for hands, cell phone in an outside pocket, digital camera & Flip in front pockets, this is everything that I took out of town with us over the weekend & I'd take to the parks for a 1/2 day as well.

It will hook on the stroller and have a longer carrying strap. I'm not a back pack fan but can wear the bag messenger style across my shoulder to my opposite hip very comfortably. I had my youngest's name stitched on the front for a nonminal fee locally and it turned out super cute.

My diaper bag is a backpack because, upon registering, DH wanted something that was neutral.

For day trips--St. Fair, Zoo, Disney Park, etc., I bought the Maclaren hanging bag (because I have a Maclaren). It can't take too much weight, so here's what I do. I have an old Market Day lunchbag. I put the bib, a ziploc of wipes (for after eating), these days a juice box, and "fruit strips" which also these days need to be in large supply, or other snacks inside the bag.

My backpack has a changing pad that came with it. I have a 12-pack huggies plastic container that I've been reloading for the past 2 years. And a diaper or two depending on the length of the day. Those two things go in the basket. Maybe longsleeves for the rest of us.

In the Mac bag goes the empty sippies, a couple toys (never used), purchases, sunscreen bottle. I've also stuck my wallet in there and take it out for rides. I probably won't carry my wallet and just pocket what I need. The Mac bag also holds soda bottles and sippies with liquid. My Mac has no adult drink holder.

I have full size of things in the hotel room--pack of diapers, more snacks, whole package of wipes. I then reload when needed and wash a cup or two if needed as well.

I won't wear a backpack in the heat. And DH has trouble pushing if it's hanging off the back (though it's been done).

Good luck. Don't overthink it.

I always used a backpack type diaper bag for my 3 girls..especially when we are at WDW. It makes life so much easier when tryng to carry things, get kids on and off the bus etc. I would def. reccommend putting clothes in a large ziploc though...

I highly recommend Land's End's Little Tripper diaper bag. I've had mine since 2005, and until my second child was born, I used it every single day. It has tons of room in a fairly small package. Fits easily under a stroller, but is also small enough that it's easy to carry. And it has bottle pockets on the side that are great for carrying sippy cups or bottles of sunscreen.

I've been using a Skip Hop Spark (the one they sell at Target) as my every day bag, but I'll be going back to the Little Tripper for WDW.

i have a normal diaper bag, but now it's getting to small as the boy gets too big! lol it's all plastic and wipes down easily, but for the stuff i need at disney, it's not going to be big enough.

when we were at disney, i wanna say in '03, if you bought $40. at the hotel store, you got this tote bag for $10. that was the best $$$$ i ever spent! i use to use it as an over nite bag, snack bag on car trips, i've even put my laptop in there. now it holds the portable diaper changer, wipes, ointment, bibs, bottles, snack crackers and i've even thrown a water bottle and our squirt fan. it hooks on to our stroller with stroller hooks, so no dragging it on the ground.

i plan on dragging it into all the rides with us, so it'll be easy for that.

and it's a disney bag!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Hi everyone.:)

Thanks for all your suggestions. Someone mentioned the Skip Hop Dash diaper bag and that there were various sites it was on sale for $30. Does anyone know where I could find it on the net? I would like to check it out. I am also going to look at the Day Tripper on the Lands End website.

Thanks,
Christal

we used a drawstring backpack in Feb w/ a 3 & 1yr old. We usually just carried our tickets in a plastic id holder, 4 diapers, wipes, camera, sippie cups, a bottle of water and an extra outfit. Now that they will be almost a year older we are probably going to take 2 bags like that just because their clothes are bigger (and we will need room for underwear since our oldest is now potty trained). We have a Disney and a Universal one, so we are set...LOL.

I would just take a backpack. That should fit everything you need, plus you could probably recruit your 9 year old to help carry it as needed. We use a backpack in the parks for the convenience of being able to carry it on our backs and we have no problem taking it on the rides with us. :thumbsup2

Here's what I did last Sept. with my 2 kids (DS3 and DD1). I carried a small backpack/diaper bag with me. This is where i had my camera, room key/tickets, 1 diaper and a small soft container of wipes (read not a hard tub) and 1 pull up.
I chose a small backpack because it was H.O.T! as I'm sure it will be when you are there. My back was all sweaty form the pack, but just dealt with it.

I had a cheap bag I got for free hanging from the handles of the stroller with a few diapers, pullups, change of clothes, sunscreen. In the stroller basket was a soft sided cooler (6 pk size) and freezable ice packs that I kept a bottle of water, sippy cups and a wet washcloth in.

I would not leave an expensive bag or a bag you care about in the stroller. You don't want to be disappointed should it go missing (as my stroller rain cover did).

I did pack the clothes in a ziplock bag (I actually packed every kids outfit in a ziplock in the suitcase so DH could grab any one and help get kids dressed w/o asking "Does this go" and could grab any ziplock to pop in the stroller). That being said we did not use 1 single change of clothes at the parks. We did however change clothes each day when we went back to the resort for naps - every one of us changed. We were sweaty, sticky and stinky so it made us all feel better. So take that info and use it for the way you've set your trip up.

Have a magical vacation. :wizard:

We carried a backpack and had a stroller bag hanging on the back of the stroller. We kept a few diapers, wipes, disposable changing pads, sippy, snacks, lightweight blanket and a change of clothes in the stroller bag for easy access and kept extra of those items in the backpack and replenished the stroller bag as needed throughtout the day. The stroller bag actually holds alot more than it looks like it will. We also used the backpack for things for DH & I.

Here's the stroller bag we used:
