DS is supposed to dress up as a character from a nursery rhyme on Thursday, and I have no ideas at all. The note from the teacher said it should be something simple, nothing elaborate needed; that doesn't help me!

For Wednesday night, he is supposed to dress up as a Bible character. I thought that would be easier, but I'm not coming up with anything. All I can come up with to use is a walking stick. I remember basic shepherd outfits from the Christmas program last year, but I'm not sure what they used for the clothes.

Any thoughts? I really wish they'd send this stuff home more than 3 days ahead of time.

Do you have a toy horn or party horn? You could dress him all in blue and he could be "Little boy blue come blow your horn".

You could make/buy puppy ears and tell him to laugh as in Hey Diddle Diddle.

Do you have any premade animal costumes that we could think up nursery rhymes for?

Shepherds wear a robe and a sheet/blanket over there head tied with another thinner one around like a hippie head band.

Joseph was a carpenter. Do you have any light weight tools he could use?

Stick a pair of Mickey ears on him, and he can be the mouse from Hickory Dickory Dock.

Stick a pair of sunglasses on him as well, and he can be one of the 3 blind mice...

Give him a sandpail & a crown (like from a party cracker or Burger King) and he can be Jack from Jack & Jill

And that's all I can think of.....

Don't listen to me for the second one - the first thing I thought of was that he should be a leper - I bet that hasn't been done before.
