Need Computer Help! Very Desperate!

OOGLEY MOOGLEY NO! Next thing you know, you'll be telling her to get a Mac.
Hey! What's wrong with Netscape?!?! Why, if it wasn't for Netscape, I couldn't Dis at work (helps me around that nasty firewall, ya know). Oh, wait, did I say that out loud?? :p

Netscape *has* to be better than getting a Mac. ;)

Wow! Thanks for all the great advice! I didn't get to work on it last night because DH went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and was diagnosed with a severe case of Strep Throat. We leave for WDW in 14 days, so now he's stressing about getting well. He started his ZPack last night, so I'm not worried.
But ANYWAY, back to the subject at hand, I will try a few different things tonight based on some of your suggestions (no, I will NOT buy a Mac). I'll keep you folks tuned in as to what happens.
He's still not off the hook, sick or no sick!

Okay, well, I'll agree that Macs are evil, but I'll disagree about Netscape. That work firewall thing ya know. :p

MrsA, does this mean you'll be getting an *extra* trip to WDW from DH? I say you get to stay at GF to make up for his little error. ;) For a week or two. ;)

I like the way you think yensid ;)

Any luck getting rid of this objectionable page yet, MrsA?

I'll be working on it tonight...

Yes, we're leaving for the World in 14 days - my Bday is the 31st and our wedding anniversary is the 2nd. I did get a bouquet of flowers delivered to my office on Monday - funny trying to explain the reason---- to my close co-workers I simply told them he had been a ****head over the weekend--- to my less-than-close co-workers, I explained that it was "just because."
Now he has Strep Throat and is floundering in his sickness... he whined for some broth this morning, but I told him I was too busy getting ready for work, and that he would have to make it himself. He did. But I secretly feel bad about that.
So let's see how it goes tonight...

mrsapalm-

In addition to my previous thread, I did a little research and found that on the microsoft updates webpage you can install a patch to prevent that sort of thing that is happening to your pc from doing so again. I only wish I had a patch when it re-wrote my scripts on my pc over a year ago. I installed all the patches I could today and hope that nothing like that ever happens again.

Here's the update:
I tried to go in to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs... and Internet Explorer is not listed!
I went into RegEdit (in Windows Explorer) and sure enough, there were those sites listed in every entry that requires a web address. I even tried to change those settings and it didn't work. I don't know what to do at this point.
Should I use my "rescue" disk and try to revert back to the system's original settings? If I do that, it will reset the settings from my brand-new cable modem and service from my new provider (yep, had it working for all of two days when DH decided to be stupid), right?
I am so at a loss right now.... and DH feels as though I don't have a right to be upset with him anymore, but I tried to explain to him that every time I have to go in and change the settings it gets me upset all over again. He feels that, if I have truly accepted his apology, then I should be over it and shouldn't still be upset. This caused a huge fight this weekend.
I've now spent many, many hours trying to fix this, and honestly, if I have to end up spending money to fix it, then it's really going to hit the fan.
