Need clarification...Mickey's Halloween Party

So I will be visiting Disneyland for the first time for 3 days (Wednesday-Friday) in September. One of the days is a Halloween Party day (Wednesday).

I have read that both Disneyland and California Adventure will be open for the party, but the party is mainly held in Disneyland.

There will be a Halloween Party on the Friday but I won't have a party ticket, just a regular park hopper ticket. I know they start pushing people out of Disneyland around 6 or 7. Will I still have access to California Adventure? Even though party goers get access to that park as well?

The party is held ONLY in the Disneyland park, and you must have a party ticket to be there during party hours (6-11 on Wednesday, 7-12 on Friday). You will still have access to DCA on party nights with a regular ticket.

As long as you have a eligible ticket for DCA (i.e., if you've spent the day in DL, then you'll need a park hopper to get into DCA), you'll be able to stay in/go to DCA after DL closes for the day to non-MHP guests.

It's worth noting that the MHP tickets are valid starting 3 hours before the party starts (so at 3:00 pm on Wed and 4:00 pm on Thu), give MHP guests access to both DL and DCA. I think they did this to try and distribute the guests a little more evenly during the overlap period. So expect a bump in the crowds at that point (and for the remaining FPs to go quickly!).

As the PP said, the MHP exclusive offerings (e.g., parade, fireworks, etc.) are only offered in DL and only after the party has started. DCA got a new Halloween overlay last year, and they were really highlighting it, but it's available to all guests, all day (so not tied into MHP).

But from what I've heard, since Disneyland is closed to non-partygoers, California Adventure becomes extremely crowded after the party start time.

Maybe on the night of the party splurge on a dining package to watch Paint the night or WOC. That eats up time and you may not feel the business of the non-party crowd.

Hopefully the previous posts explained it. You must have a ticket for a specific park or a park hopper to go to both parks. On MHP nights DL closes early but a MHP will get you in before the party to either park. After the party starts DCA is still open even though MHP people can get in.

We went to MHP last year and were there on a different MHP night without MHP tickets. It gets VERY crowded at DCA and DTD after they close DL for MHP. Definitely consider what you want to do on the Friday that you aren’t going to the MHP. WOC will probably still be closed. It could get really crowded for PTN so it would be a great time to splurge on a package or stake out a seat.
