Arriving March 17, 2012 late at night-need cheap place to stay.

Need cheap hotel/motel for 1 night before we start our WDW Vacation.

We are staying at Pop Century from March 18, 2012 (Sunday) to March 23, 2012 (Friday).

We are driving down from Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, March 17, 2012) and will arrive in the orlando area sometime this night.

We are looking for budget motel/hotels, but not roach motels-lol! Just for 1 night to get some sleep and get up refreshed and make-up on to drive to Pop Century and get our cards and start off the vacation with a bang.....suprise bfast at Cinderella's Royal Table for our 2 daughters!

It can be up to an hour away to 5 minutes away-whatever is cheaper.

Any help please!

:)

I am currently staying at the Country Inn and Suites Orlando airport which I booked through hotwire at a rate of $39/night or you can book through lastminutetravel.com for $41/night - it is just fine and includes breakfast - good value. Or I also recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista which I booked through lastminutetravel for $56/night - it was nice and also included breakfast - good location on Palm Parkway near to DTD - Winn Dixie close by on Lake Rd. Either of these I give a :thumbsup2 for an inexpensive but safe, clean option.

We have stayed at the Rodeway Inn Maingate twice. Request one of the updated rooms with new carpet. It was clean and I felt safe. With the AAA discount the rate was less than $30 taxes and all. Also, closer to time for your trip you can look at travelzoo.com orlando hotel specials. You can probably find a nicer hotel there at a really good price. Have fun!:cool1:

We stayed at the Sheraton Safari hotel for 1 night before our trip in Dec 2010 and it was really nice.

I have also looked at the Seralago, they have really nice rates, but we have never stayed there. They always have a list of really good specials. I am thinking we might drive down and stay there before our trip in January.

We have stayed at Seralago the last 3 years for the night before we checkin at the resort we stay in the next day and staying there again this Friday night before we checkin at Pop on Saturday. It is a really great place.

We are staying at the Clarion Inn on Palm Parkway in November for about $50.00/night. Not too far from Downtown Disney area

There's probably an obvious answer to this question, but have you called Disney to see if you can extend your stay? I know I don't want to move hotels after getting in late.

This is a great idea since you are driving and arriving late. Both times we have checked in late in the evening because of our flight time, we have not received very good room assignments. The time we stayed by the airport then checked in early in the AM, we received a great room assignment. This has happened at non Disney resorts as well.

We like Hampton but they are a little pricy just to sleep a few hours and go...we have got lucky in Orlando though and found that the Hampton Inn Florida Mall is usually much cheaper than the others..might be a little older or something but nice clean comfy Hampton beds and delicious breakfast, book online and try AAA rate(if u have AAA) vs. best rate ....we got it for $45-$55 per night when the other hamptons were $79-100plus

Where/who did you book with? The hotel, travelocity, expedia, hotels.com, orbitz?
Thanks!
It looks like a nice place to stay.\:)

We stayed at Buena Vista Suites got great deal from Last Minute travel and there breakfast was good. If you know what their room looks like it is easy t spot on LMT

Like I said we haven't stayed there, but I think I would book with them directly. That is what I usually do anywhere we stay. Check out their website to see if any of their deals fit for your time frame.

I agree with another Poster- Did you ask to check in a night early??? for me it would be worth it and the POP Hotels are only 79.00 a night right???

$79 Are you kidding? They haven't been $79 since we have been going in 2005. They start at $82 and are probably much more than that in March during Spring Break.

Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista - $59 nt - very nice/clean for the price which includes a free continental breakfast.

I booked directly with them by calling there 1800 number. I have also been able to use a coupon upon checkin from travel coupons dot com in the past(I think that is the website, I will check to make sure) I can't use the coupon this year as we will have 5 people in our group this year and getting the kid suite.

I do have to say that if your WDW resort is only $79, then I would have to pay a WHOLE lot less to make it worth it for me. I would have to save at least $40 to make the time and effort worth it. Especially when I have an important breakfast scheduled on that first full day. If Pop is really only $79, I would just book it (room only if you're on free dining and at the front of the free DDP) and be done with it.

For the one night she is wanting to add, Pop Century is $185. I know why you want a cheap room off site for that 1 night, I would too.

It's $185 for a preferred pool room. Is that what OP has? A regular room is $164, which is still pricey, but I stand by what I said about not wanting to move rooms after being there only 12 hrs, especially with young kids.
