Need chafing help

Love the Monistat soothing gel stuff odorless an colorless an WORKS wonderfully is much cheaper than Body Glide and easier to find.

I also use it on my feet at disney or when lot of walking is planned just do not use it an try to wear crocs or flip flops....tho I have used it at the toe of flip flops an along top of foot where strap would rub.

NO BLISTERS or corn flares since I started using it

GREAT under make up as a primer....use it on my dry rough elbow in winter protects from sleeve rubbing no it doesn't add moisture but it protects keeps the dry rough elbow from getting worse.

OH an it does not stain clothing works all day even on the hottest days at disney unless you swim it off.

, always use it on my feet when breaking in new shoes, we all use it daily on feet when at Disney World (and no one ever, ever gets blisters)

I always get blisters when we go to DL or WDW and would like to know exactly how do you use the body glide to prevent them. (sorry, I know it should be obvious - but I'm a little slow).
Do you put it on before socks? heels and bottom of feet also? or does it cause your feet to slip in your shoes too much?

Before socks. Pretty much everywhere that you would normally get blisters. Personally, I wear flip flops almost exclusively when on vacation, so I put it between my toes and wear the straps go across my feet. When I'm wearing running shoes, I put it across the ball of my foot, my heel, on the outside of my big toe and little toe and under my second toe (because that part seems to always mysteriously rub for me, LOL). It doesn't make it slippery at all. I also have a tendency to put some on my shoulder/neck right wear my cross-body purse strap rubs. But I've become a little addicted to the stuff.

Question on this BodyGlide, GS (4) had a MAJOR problem w/chafing last summer after swimming (common w/boys?) red, sore thighs, so painful he would walk like he had been riding a horse (poor kid)- will this stuff help? can we use it before going into the pool as a preventative??? Going to Orlando in June, and dreading the pool w/him.

Yes, we had this problem at the water parks last year with my son. I found the Secret Clinical waterproof deodorant to work better for that while at the water parks. It feels like it sticks around longer when very wet. I brought it with us and reapplied when we reapplied our sunscreen.

My womens soccer team had this problem and we all used vasaline petroleum jelly. It worked like a charm

Really?? deodorant?? OMG, if this works it would be a blessing, this poor kid was in so much pain last year after swimming.

Currently at WDW and using Body Glide. The best thing I have ever used. I brought A&D along as well as talc. The Body Glide works GREAT!

We bought Body Glide for our last trip after reading Mouse Junkies. DH and sons used it and it worked like a charm. Would recommend it HIGHLY. We got it at the sporting goods store but Amazon.com sells it as well, I have discovered since then.

Just regular stick deodorant will prevent chafing.

Thanks to Manda for suggesting Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof deodorant for "water park rash" - it worked for DS10 and DS8!!! We really appreciate the help. We were camping this weekend and the kids were in and out of the water, back and forth from the lake to the pool, walking back and forth from the water to the campground in their damp swim trunks - a perfect storm for rash. The Secret worked like a charm! I have also tried the Monistat anti chafing gel and it seemed to wash away in the water. I can't find the Lanacane in any stores near us, but I did receive my free sample while we were away and will give it a try for myself, but will stick to the Secret for the boys.
