A few weeks ago we went to the zoo and DSD wore a pair of capris. When we got home, she complained that her thighs hurt. Then when she got out of the bathtub, she said they were really red and still hurt. We obviously can not have this happen at DW. Suggestions (besides leave those capris at home)?

You might try Body Glide. My DH uses it to prevent chafing when he runs. I don't know if it stains clothing though. I used Vaseline when I run long distances, and Vaseline definitely stains, so that wouldn't be an option for you.

Gold bond powder and Anti-Monkeybutt powder (Yes. It's a real thing.) can also help if you want to go the powder route.

Body Glide has gotten 100 million recommendations around here....I'd certainly give it a search to see what you find.

have a great trip!

Body Glide is awesome. And on feet too. You can find it at most sporting goods stores. It is usually with the athletic cups. I also saw it at a camping type store, I think it was REI or something like that.

Definitely Body Glide! It was recommended to me on these boards before my first WDW trip so I picked some up at Dick's Sporting Goods. After the first day at the parks, my boyfriend was absolutely miserable from chafing. I told him to use the Body Glide I brought and he was great the rest of the trip! Neither of us could do WDW without it!

I have used Body Glide at Disney. It does really help.

I'll have to try Body Glide. Last WDW trip I was chafing something fierce. I went and bought A&D ointment. It worked, but with all of the recomendations, I'd lke to give body glide a shot. Just need to find it at a store around here.

I had been using baby powder, but since BG seems to be the most recommended thing on the DIS I had to get some for this trip :thumbsup2

We went to Sea World a few years ago and my DS had a bad chaffing prob and someone there suggested we try corn starch so we did and it brought him much relief and by the end of the 2nd day it was completely gone. But I may look into the body glide for our next trip just in case ;O)

BodyGlide.............. I've used it tons of times - it works!!!!!
In fact - I just bought some (off Ebay) yesterday for our upcomming trip!!! :goodvibes

You might try FDS or another feminine spray like that...they prevent sweating and provide some glide. Also, make sure your daughter has relatively loose light weight clothing. If she had delicate skin, having it damp is the start of all the problems!

Cornstarch Powder you can buy the generic and it works GREAT!!! SO much cheaper than body glide and to be honest does the same job. My friend is a pediatrician and he swears by it and tells all his patients(parents)...Put on in the morning and if you need more just reapply, plus you can find it at every store....Just make sure its CORNSTARCH...:cool1:

LOVE the Monistat stuff. I bought it for my face as a primer (and use it daily for that) but also love it for it's intended purpose too.

The Monistat stuff works the best for me and feels better more like a powder.
I have had good luck with the Body Glide, but to me it feels greasy and doesn't seem to work as well.

We use a lot of Body Glide in our family. Ever since we discovered it, the whole family uses it all the time! I always, always use it on my feet when breaking in new shoes, we all use it daily on feet when at Disney World (and no one ever, ever gets blisters). I use it on my chub rub (thighs) daily at Disney World or whenever we walk long distances. I run as well and I use it then. For my 6 year old son, I've noticed that a long day at the water parks leaves him with chafed inner thighs from walking in wet trunks, so I always put plenty on his legs before we go to the water parks as well.

BUT - found an even better solution for water park chafing - Secret Clinical Strength WATERPROOF deodorant. Also an awesome deodorant :thumbsup2. But once applied to rub spots on the thighs, that stuff does not come off for anything and provides an excellent barrier cream for chafing, etc.
