First trip to CBR. Leaving for our vacation in 3 weeks. 2 adults, no kids (this trip).

2 questions:

1 - Can anyone recommend a building or area that is quiet and somewhat close to a bus stop. (We don't mind a long walk to a pool, if we decide to do that).

2 - Is the CBR bus service on an internal loop of sorts? Do you board one bus for going around the resort, then get off somewhere and wait for another bus to go out to the parks?? (Everywhere I have looked for info on this, it has not been very clear). If not an internal loop, which direction is the order of stops??

Thanks for any info.

I suggest you read the CBR FAQ thread listed below. I will be updating it in the next several weeks to make it easier to find information.

Robert,

CBR is a beautiful resort.
We stayed in Jamaica which was a short walk to main pool and food court over the bridge and across the small island. All of the islands have their own beach and quiet pool.

The resort is very large and spread out. The quietest part of the resort is probably Trinidad South which is the farthest from everything.

The bus has two different loops that it makes. Sometimes it would stop at Jamaica first and sometimes it would stop at Martinque first. I could never figure out the system.

There is an internal bus loop but we found that if we asked whatever bus pulled up "did you go to Port Royale yet, etc" they would drop you off there if they didn't make that stop yet.

I thought the bus system was overall, very efficient for such a large resort. You would have to wait at peak times at the park, but you have that no matter where you stay.

I did find this on transportation board a while ago:

CBR stops:
A side: Martinique-OPR-Trin North-Trin South- Jamaica- Aruba- Barbados

B side: Jamaica- Aruba- Barbados- Martinique- OPR- Trin North- Trin South

hope it helps and have great time.

The two closest villages are Martinique and Trinidad North. They are nearby to the pools and the food court. There are great views no matter where you stay. The landscaping is good everywhere.

Here is a specific building that another poster mentioned:
"Building/village - Martinique #21 upper level- liked the location, took about 7 minutes to walk to the food court past the lake.

Here is a post from our last trip this past May; we have been two other times since 2000 and are planning our next trip this March.
Hope this is helpful:

DH and I stayed at CBR first week of May and we requested Jamaica. We love CBR and stayed in Martinique last time but someone on these forums told us to request Jamaica. Great reason - about 80% of the time it is the first stop for the bus to pick up AND to drop off. There is a great pool nearby, much quieter than the one at Old Port Royale and the kids will love the swingset that is right on the beach in front of Jamaica's pool. Have fun - already miss Disney:)

Martinique and Trinidad North are now considered preferred locations. It cost extra to stay in these locations.

firstmickey, could you please post your CBR report in the FAQ thread? Thank you.

Hi Robert:

No, they do not make you get on 2 different buses. Normally the sign on the top of the front of the bus will say where that bus is going, such as AKL, MK, Epcot, etc. or it will say Internal, and that's the bus that circles the resort. (Often times the Internal bus will circle the resort, dropping off guests at Old Port Royale or near Custom House, then switch signs and then head to one of the parks, after circling the resort again).

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!!! :sunny:
