You should be at the gate 20 to 30 minutes BEFORE opening time (EMH or reg.) for the best way to beat the crowds.

So if you board the bus about 45 minutes early, you should be fine.

If the park opens at 9 I am at the bus stop at 8. That leaves plenty of time to wait for the bus, ride, walk to the park, etc. and be there right for rope drop.

Driving Time (car or taxi) is : 19 mins.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort to Disney's BoardWalk Inn to Downtown Disney® Area : 45 mins.

that is a LONG BUS RIDE! with a transfer..i think we will get a TAXI~

Depending on crowds you cannot be assured of getting on the exact bus that arrives at the park right at opening, probably leaving the resort 20 minutes to half an hour earlier. So if you really want to be at the park at its opening, getting in line at the resort for the bus 60 to 70 minutes earlier should do it.

BE FOREWARNED:

That travel wizard is seriously outdated, and can provide you with totally wrong information.

The ride from CSR to DTD is direct, no transfers. Time is about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic and lights.

That information doesn't make ANY sense. Notwithstanding that there are NO buses from resort-to-resort, but there ARE direct buses between each resort and Downtown Disney (making that travel time information inane ;)), there is DIRECT transportation between each park and each resort. Granted, some resorts share buses, but Coronado Springs is not one of them.

The Unofficial Guide has (or had, I haven't got the 2007 edition memorized yet) a good comparison chart showing the shortest-to-longest transit time range using your own vehicle vs. Disney transportation.

From the 2004 edition, Disney transit time ranges only since you're apparently not going to have a car, in minutes:
CSR to Animal Kingdom: 8 - 31
CSR to Disney/MGM Studios: 7 - 27
CSR to Epcot: 8 - 28
CSR to Magic Kingdom: 11 - 31

Shortest time based on bus being at the stop when you get to it, leaving directly from that stop to the park, average or better wait-times at traffic lights.
Longest time based on JUST missing bus and having to wait the standard twenty minute interval for the next bus.

Oh, wait, now I remember what might have been the (OLD) basis for the directions to change buses at Boardwalk Inn: When CSR first opened, and for several years, there was direct transportation between there and the Boardwalk, in deference to the expected large contingency of convention Guests who'd be seeking evening entertainment following a day of seminars.

That is very helpful, we are staying at CSR in Decmber. Thanks for posting that.

 You're welcome - but really, the credit goes to Bob Sehlinger and Len Testa
