Hi,
I always get really good ideas from this list! We decided we are going to take the kids on a surprise trip for Christmas to surf at Hunnington beach and a day trip to disneyland and dca. They really don't need anymore stuff. We are leaving Jan 1. I want to get them something to unwrap Christmas morning that will not break the bank but is not clutter. I want to spend about 80. total so 40. each. Both boys, don't play video games. One just went to college and the other is in 8th grade.I'm just stumped! :confused3

New Towels

Sunscreen

Sunglasses

New swim shorts

New t-Shirt

A homemade book of printable mad libs for the car or airport

A football and or frisbee to toss around at the beach

flip flops

Goodies to eat in car or on plane (gummy bears jube jubes ect)

Are you wanting gift ideas for things they can use/are related to the trip you're surprising them with, or just budget gifts for them in general?

Beach Chairs?

Books to read on vacation?

A favorite book or graphic novel
Headphones (if they like music)
College sweatshirt (or anything with the college name)
Nice shaving set
Food (they are boys:)

Not sure if the boys are currently surfers or not but if not you will want to get them rash guards. It will not only help keep them a little warmer in the water but help with sunblock and most importantly help them with the rubbing of the wax onto their chest when paddling / laying on the board.

Good question! Both! The trip is the present but just opening an envelope on christmas morning is kinda well...so little stuff themed or not.

movie dvds--gift certificates (wrapped in different shapes/sizes boxes)
candy, snacks (made into a gift basket)

Autograph books, Disney dollars, a new wallet for said dollars, gift cards to their favorite stores.....................P

I did something similar for my girls for their birthdays (both in March) and we were going to Santa Cruz. I did a small beach tote with some goodies in each: sunglasses, swimsuit, flip flops, books, beach toys, etc. They loved having all kinds of little things in the bag and they toted that thing around the whole time we were gone!
This Xmas they are getting a park hopper for our trip in February so I am making a little box with a couple goodies in it for them to unwrap. So far I have tshirts and a little necklace for DD4. I need some more things though :)

Look on Amazon for a Hubsan X4 H107C 2.4G 4CH RC Quadcopter With Camera RTF - Black/Green

Very nice for the 8 year old. I think the teen might like it as well...

This and the cheaper non camera version is one of the best on the market at the price... You might order a spare battery as well.
