I have the Ninja BL770 Blender & Food Processor, Mega Kitchen System. I had head and neck cancer and swallowing has been a problem for me, due to side effects during and after treatment. Liquid nutrition has been a big part of my diet for seven years. Before I got my ninja, I had a HealthMaster, which was not as good as this Ninja. I have never had a vitamix, because they're out of my budget, but I have read on different cancer sites that they offer a discount if it's a medical necessity, with proof.
This is the one I have:
Anyway, I like my Ninja. I use the two individual cups the most, at least 5x a week. I do not often use things with seeds to make smoothies, sometimes I do use some nuts. When I do make things with nuts or seeds, I like to put them in with just a tiny bit of liquid, and give them a good pre-blitz, and then I add the rest of my ingredients and ice for the final blitz. But I have always needed my drinks extremely smooth, so it could go through my peg tube, or even when I drink, because of my severe stricture. Cannot have anything getting stuck in the tube, or in my throat.
I use the bigger pitcher to purée soups, mostly. I also use it to make a potato pancake recipe. I'd say I use it a couple of times a month. Haven't had any issues with it.
I use the mixer one on the rare occasions that I bake, since it has both a sharp blade and a mixing blade. I also use it to mix up my meatball ingredients well.
I don't really have any cons, it's worked very well for me. I think I've had it for two years now. I was able to get a really good sale, and paid a little less than $100 for it.
