I have never made meatloaf before in my life and would like to try. I looked up recipes on the web and most of them contain ingredients that I wouldn;t even know where to find them in the supermarket:confused3

Anyone have easy , good recipes they could share? Thanks:)

Ground beef/pork/or Turkey, or whatever combination you prefer.

Add an egg, some catsup, mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, maybe a package of onion soup mix, Italian bread crumbs, whatever you want!

Wash your hands and get in there and mix the whole thing up!

Put in a meatloaf pan and bake at 350 for an hour.

Couldn't be any easier!

Stouffers makes great meatloaf with gravy. lol! They sell it in little loves and packages of 6.

Seriously, meatloaf takes a long time and is messy. lol!

Your kidding right? 15 minutes tops! The only thing that gets messy for me is my hands! Soap and water works great!

I'm making it tonight as a matter of fact! I use the Lipton Onion-Mushroom Soup recipe. It's super easy.

And as far as your hands getting yucky, I put mine inside of sandwich bags when I mix up the meat. Keeps my hands totally clean!

Does anyone have a meatloaf recipe made with Stove Top Stuffing mix?

Here's my mom's recipe. I like it because I can sneak a little oatmeal into everyone's diet. :thumbsup2

1 lb ground beef--lean
1 onion - diced
1 red or green pepper - diced
1 cup uncooked oatmeal -- regular old Quaker oats
1/2 cup milk
1 egg

Smush it all together. I don't bake it in a loaf pan because it takes longer to cook. I put it in an 9 x 13 pan and make it kind of flat in an oval shape. Bake at 375 degrees for half hour to 45 minutes.

You can put ketchup on top before baking but my family prefers to put ketchup on it at the table.

ground beef, salsa, an egg. If I'm feeling spunky maybe some Onion soup mix, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper & bread crumbs. Bake.

I am trying to stay away from red meat so would ground turkey work instead of ground beef? Would it taste as good?

Thanks.

I made meatloaf last night and it took me about 5 minutes to throw together. I do it Italian Style:

1lb ground turkey
1'b ground beef
2 eggs
Italian bread crumbs
1 can tomato paste
parmesan cheese
shredded moz cheese
garlic
salt
pepper
tomato sauce (about 1/2 cup)

preheat oven to 375
mix all ingredients except for the tomato sauce and the parm. put in the loaf pan, coat the crust with tomato sauce and parm cheese. bake about 45min

Ground turkey works very well. I tend to use more sauce when I use all ground turkey, but it tastes just as good. It's actually less greasy in my experience.

If you have a kitchenaid mixer, you can use it to mix the meat, then just plop it into the pan. I dislike having to touch raw meat.

Mine is 100% basic and simple, mostly because I am a picky eater. ;)

2 lbs. hamburger
2 or 3 eggs
1/2 cup or so of milk (I don't measure, just pour)
1/2 sleeve of saltine crackers, crushed (approx.)
1 pkg. Lipton Onion Soup

Mix everything together in one bowl, plop in baking dish... ta da!

Smother the top with either ketchup or tomato soup, then salt and pepper.

I divide the mix in two and make one with ketchup and one with the soup, because DD's and I like ketchup and DH prefers soup.

I just throw stuff together, I don't measure just look for the consistancy that I like.

I start with 1.5lb ground beef. I put in:
ketchup
horseradish
dry mustard
chopped onions
chopped mushrooms
egg
milk
italian bread crumbs
fresh bread crumbs.

I top with a layer of ketchup on the top and bake. I found a meatloaf pan at Target a few years ago that I love. It's a basic loaf pan but it has an insert in it that has holes in the bottom so that the meatloaf isn't baking in it's own fat the whole time. i haven't noticed it being any drier that way either.

YUM!! I want to make meatloaf this week with mashed potatoes.

Ditto

I use all beef, 2 eggs for 3 lbs of meat, italian bread crumbs, fresh or dried parsley - usually a grated carrot(that's ONLY to sneak veggies into my oldest son who won't eat them otherwise:lmao: ) diced onion, good squirt of ketchup, worstershire, salt, pepper and a touch of cayenne.

I mold and top with a mixture of ketchup, brown sugar and ground ginger. Makes an AMAZING glaze!

Mine is very similar to these posted but I do cook mine in the microwave at 80% power for about 20 minutes. Very easy. That's for about 2 lbs of meat, too.
