Need advice on Annual passes...

We are going for a long weekend to WDW and then for nine days in Sept. I have passes left from our last trip that would cover us in Sept.. But was wondering if I should save them for another time and buy an annual pass?? How much do DVC members save on annual passes???Thanks!!!!!

We are thinking of doing the same thing in Aug. We have 7 days left on MYP and we are going to Disney for 8 nights in Aug. and 7 nights in Nov. I am thinking of keeping the passes and using those as filler days for future trips. For instance...if we go to Disney next AUg....we might go later than this trip and therefore our AP's will expire at the beginning of our trip. I think that is what I plan on using mine for.

You can always apply the value of your MYW passes to the cost of your annual pass. I just did it a few days ago. I only had to pay a total of 38 dollars to upgrade.

Were these already used MYW passes from a previous trip or some that you purchased this trip and then decided to upgrade? I thought I had read somewhere that there was a time limit on when you could upgrade but can't remember the specifics.

Don't forget too, when you have an AP, you have the option of purchasing the DDE. 20% of meals (incl alcoholic beverages) at table service restaurants. I got an AP for the first time this year and bought the DDE... we've saved quite a bit of money using this (we don't get the DDP as that amount of food would just be wasted on us!)

When I purchased my AP, the cast member who I dealt with said that the DVC discount on an AP was the best discount available - even better than what she could buy an AP for!

I don't know what a CM's discount is, but as a FL resident military member, I can purchase an annual pass for $333 and a seasonal pass for $219. And that's without tax. We went with the seasonal pass this year.

That is a great price!!! I love it when companies offer special discounts to the military service members and their families! They've certainly earned it!

I would like to know this too. I thought all changes had to be made within 14 days or something of buying the MYW passes. I have tickets with 7 days left out of 10. Would love to know this answer as well.

It never ceases to amaze me though, about the whole buying tickets thing. When we go to the Shades of Green to purchase tickets, there's always a line. Every single time, as I waited in line, I've "educated" people about buying tickets. They've all got their ticket leaflets and as can be expected, they're overwhelmed. It's rare when I've seen the guest walk up there and know what they want. Hanging out on these boards gives one a warped perception of the average WDW guest. Most people don't do their Disney homework.

BTW there's a Starbucks right by the ticket line at Shades of Green. Makes the line more bearable.

Used passes can only be exchanged for credit towards another within 14 days of first use, even if they have no expiration. You will be given credit for the full amount and the AP will be dated the first day of use of the original pass. The main reason for this is the MYW value per day goes down dramatically after 4 or 5 days use.

We just returned Sunday and we upgraded our 2-10 day no expiration park hopper passes to 2-annual passes and only paid $38.00. They didn't ask anything about how old they were. And you are right the first day of use of the AP will be the first day you used your MYW tickets. We were in WDW in Feb. and upgraded to AP in May, so, our end date will be Feb. of next year. It was extremely easy, I went to guest relations at Magic Kingdom. The CM was great!
