Need advice - Oct or Nov?

Hi folks - I thought I might pick your brains as when we should plan our family's next pilgrimage to WDW. Our school district has a 4 day weekend off in October for Columbus Day weekend. We also have another 4 day weekend in November (the imfamous "Jersey Week"). For either visit we would take our kids out of school for 3 three days to lengthen our stay. I realize the crowds may be higher for Columbus Day - but "Jersey Week" also coincides this year with Veteran's Day. I can get airfare roundtrip for about $170 per person in October flying Spirit out of Atlantic City. There are NO deals for the week we want in November because they know everyone is escaping to Florida. I realize I may be answering my own question as I write this, but I thought the wisdom of my fellow DVCers might help. Any suggestions would be appreciated- you folks are the best!!

Since you're taking the students out of school for a bit anyway, I would go in October and try to go to a MNSSHP. We've been to 2 of them, and I'm going back for a third this year. They are fun!

And Whichever you decide, I would book pretty soon if you want BWV or BCV. The Food & Wine Fest will be going on both those months and those 2 resorts in particular fill up fast. Folks like to be able to easily walk into the Fest (and stagger out, if necessary)

The weather is usually a bit nicer in October, as long as there are no hurricanes blowing through.

October is my favorite time of year to go! The weather is great, the crowds aren't bad and the points are low. They also have the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot which is awsome! October is the way to go

We have been discussing this issue also. In 2005 we are doing early DEC with PAP's. We want to go in 2006 in OCT or NOV to use the passes twice. We keep going back and forth about when to go. My kids have a week of half days the week before Thanksgiving for teacher conferences, so that might be good. We've also been thinking about the 3rd week of OCT. That's after hurricane season, right? I know we are dorks to plan so far ahead!

I'd vote October - we went in 2003 and had a great time at MNSSHP. The weather was fine, but it can be a bit unpredictable....

We really like November,and will be going for the 2nd time then.October is probably good too,haven't tried it,but we prefer the weather to be a little cooler,so will go then!
Whichever month you choose,have fun!
