Ok, Im a HUGE fan of going in the off season, thats usually the only time we go....BUT, I am planning a trip to New Orleans in July for a few days (very hot but very cheap) and cant stand being that far down south without going to the World!! I am just wondering how bad the crowds are then? Out of control? The heat I can deal with, but can the crowds be manageble? Any info would be great!!!
Thanks!!

If you go well after July 4th, the crowds are manageable. We take an afternoon break to avoid the crowds, heat and rain showers, then return in the evening. And it's not the heat that's a killer, it's the humidity--all day long.

We went July 4 last year and it was crowded but manageable. Make sure to get fast passes when you can and take advantage of early entry. We always had water with us and really had a great time. Have a great trip. :flower1:

I went in August last year, and I brought the Brita water bottles and drank a lot of water. Also I bought a wash cloth from the room and put cold water on it through out the day to stay cool. The crowds weren't that bad, but I overheard someone complaining about the crowds and another guy said this is nothing, July has double this attendance.

So that is all I know about July. The heat was bearable, but it is hot. Be prepared and you will do o.k.

We were there last year the week of July 4th, which is suppose to be a very busy time. It was indeed busy, but we were pleasantly surprised. If you're smart and know what attractions to hit first and use Fastpass, you'll be fine. I never felt overwhelmed by people to the point where I was angry. then again, we arrive in the parks early, hit the popular attractions first and use fastpass a lot.

DH and I went in July of 2003 and really had a good time. We went after July 4th - I don't remember the exact dates - for seven nights. The crowds were very managable. It was pretty hot - but we live in KY, the humidity capital of the world in the summer - so it wasn't too bad for us. We took a break just about every afternoon to go back to our resort (CBR) and swim. We are planning another July trip this summer.

We tried it last year (late July) and I hate to say it, never again. It wasn't so much the heat as the people that were there. I think it might have been a cultural thing, but we couldn't keep our "space." At BB, we arrived early, staked out a nice picnic area and were in heaven. When we left, for even a minute, others would be moved in, sitting at our table, moving our stuff out of their way. Of course, they didn't speak English, so we shared our now crowded little space for most of the day. Not to say it was totally awful, it wasn't. Heck, a day at Disney is better than somewhere else. We just prefer less busy times.

My Husband and I went last July 19th to the 22nd. It was ok. Waits were not that bad. I would go back then with my husband. I am not sure if I would go back then with my kids. IT was very hot. I hope it isn't that bad when we go in May.

Last summer we were there from July 15-26. This year we'll be there July 1-15 so it can't be so bad. I didn't think the crowds were unmanageable if you played smart. We went at opening left early afternoon for swim/nap break and returned in the evening. The parks are open late then. We also always carried our water/fan bottles and didn't try to cram everything. We had a wonderful time. We'll see how much different it is for the 4th of July.

We, like you, are Huge off season people. The climate, the lack of crowds, the rates. We however did go last mid-July. I didn't find the crowds to bad. The REAL popular attractions could be long lines (some even 2hrs!!!),so get those must see fast passes asap. The climate was 90s with a mist several of the days. The very last day was 103 no mist - that was a bit much for me.
Usually we go in Nov. and stay OKW 2bdrm. In July we stayed POR. The parks were fine. The hotel was crowded. (2adult 3teens 1 11mnth).

Have fun. LIke it has been said before. A bad day in disney is better than a good day at work.LOL
