My little girl has decided to be in her school beauty pageant this year. She is 8yo. What is appropriate makeup for her age. I thought a light shade of lip gloss, a little blush and some clear mascara just to make her eyes stand out a bit.
I am really stressing about this. She is so tender hearted and has only been in this pageant one time before (Kindergarten). They have an interview portion that counts 30% of the score. She is extremely shy with people she doesn't know and totally bombed the interview, giving one one answers.
Last time, she cried all the way home because all she wanted was a crown. Her Daddy went to Claire's and bought her a crown the very next morning and told her she would always be his princess and that she was the most beautiful little girl in the world.
She is 3 years older now and I know that she can handle the competition a little better but I still worry about her self esteem being crushed if she doesn't win.
She is beautiful. Long naturally curly hair and big brown eyes. Everybody says she looks like Keri Russell....but I know she will clam up in front of the judges. I really can't believe the interview counts as such a high % of the score. Especially with that age group.
I really dislike pageants. I was always in them in high school BUT I didn't wear my heart on my sleeve like she does. I did usually place and even won a few but I haven't told her this because I don't won't her to think she HAS to win.
Sorry this is so long. I am just so anxious to get this thing over.
