Need advice ASAP - FP+ worth it??

We are AP holders and have a reservation to stay at Port Orleans Riverside in 10 days (AP discount). (2 adults/2 kids) We have our Magic Bands in hand and have already made our FP+ reservations and dining reservations. I have literally spent HOURS planning our trip! This is a shorter trip. We have trips in May and Oct scheduled. We figured it would be nice to stay at the Disney hotel and get Magic Bands to use FP+on our other trips.

We have just been offered a free stay at really nice Marriott Vacation Club studio, which we have stayed at before (friend could not go last minute). Even factoring in the cost of a rental car, this would save us about $800! We can cancel our room only reservation at Disney. We have stayed offsite many times.

If we cancel our Disney resort reservation, what happens to our Magic Bands/FP+ reservations???? Do they just get erased/cancelled?? Our AP cards should still work and we can get FP at kiosk same day, correct? We have another trip booked for May and Oct (offsite) and the original thought was to stay onsite and get Magic Bands this trip to use for our other trips later this year. $800 is real money and buys a lot of magic

We have to decide ASAP!! Keep reservation at POR? Keep the 1st night at the POR to keep our magic bands/fast pass+ then move offsite? Cancel the POR and just stay offsite???

I am soooo confused what to do!! Please help! THANK YOU!!!

$800 would be a lot of money for us to save. And with more upcoming trips, you could hit rides that maybe you have to miss this trip.

But I think the cost of POR room for one night might entice us to get Magic Bands and ability to make FP+ for not only this trip but two more trips during the year.

I'd vote for either cancel POR or do one night there.
