My family have reservations on St. Petes beach Fri and Sat. night. I also booked a hotel in Orlando for those same nights, just in case. Here's my question - I need to cancel by 3:00 today, or have to pay for the 1st night stay. Should I chance staying on the coast, or cancel and play it safe and stay in Orlando? Any advice, especially from Floridians would be greatly appreciated.

You just don't know with hurricanes. It may not affect St. Pete beach at all. It really is too early to tell.

Well right now like safetymom said its hard to tell because its still to soon, but from what i've hear is that its going to be hitting naples which is far from st.pete. You never know with theses hurricanes. I live in clearwater, close to st.pete and I'm not leaving for this hurricane unless its hitting me and I really dont think that its coming this way. Just watch the weather and see if anything changes.

Wilma Flintstone, the wife of Fred Flinstone, was modeled after the Alice Kramden character played by Audrey Meadows in Jackie Gleason's The Honeymooners. As such, Wilma was the loyal but somewhat cycnical housewife, putting up with the crazy antics and get-rich-quick schemes of her bumbling husband, Fred.

Therefore, my advice would be to approach her carefully - while superficially friendly, she's somewhat suspicious of strangers

I live in Naples Florida and we were planning on going this Thursday and coming home on Monday....the weather is going to be worse here than in Orlando but Orlando will feel strong winds and rain on Sat and Sun...basically those days will be days to stay in the hotel and chill.....

We leave Thursday night, return home Monday night. Saturday and Sunday sound like a wash. As long as the satellite dishes at ESPN club work for the NFL games Sunday, we'll be ok. We have resv's Monday at KSC, I hope Wilma stays far-far away from there.

How do you think Wilma will affect Orlando airport? I have no experience with hurricanes and am a little nervous . Any info appreciated :wave2:

3pm news update on our local station said south florida, of course bands of wind/rain on up into central. But still way, way to early to tell anything for sure. Way to early.

It's too early to tell if MCO would be affected. Just keep watching the airline web page.

She's on her way. The 6:00 news here said more than likely staying south of Tampa (near us) but that things change very quickly and to just keep on watching. So, I guess I'd go with everyone else and say "it's just to early to tell". It looks like the only sure thing is that it's going to be a wet weekend!! :umbrella: And Sunday is my birthday. Guess we'll be celebrating inside!!
