I'm on a solo trip and need an idea for a restaurant for dinner or a late lunch. It hasn't been hard for me to get last min reservations, so throw your ideas to me!

I want some good food. Characters are a plus but not required. Price limit $50. Preferably a buffet if we're talking that price! Is Hollywood and Vine worth the cost? I heard Boma is also good.

I wouldn't do H&V. Food is bad and not worth the uncharge for the characters.

Boma is good! Cape May if you like seafood. But if you want characters, I would consider Tusker House, 1900 Park Fare or Garden Grove at the Swan (if you have a AAA card, you get 20% off!)

I love the Trails End buffet (10% off for APs or Disney VISA). No characters but a really great and inexpensive buffet. If you haven't been to Fort Wilderness this is a great excuse to hop over there to eat and explore. We love to either walk over from MK to the contemporary and catch the small boat from there to the Fort or you can get the big boat right from the MK to the fort. Be sure to check out the horse barn where they house all the MK horses you see in the park.

On your own, you could hit the bar area at California Grill. Or I would head for Morimoto. If you want characters, maybe 1900 Park Fare to get some different characters than the norm?

Trails end has openings! Hmm!!! What's the menu like? Not on the app. And do they have good dessert? I did Tusker house and Crustal palace this week. Is Trails end better food wise?

Hollywood Brown Derby. Get the Cobb salad. A full entree might put you over your price limit, but the Cobb, and appetizer, and dessert should come out less.

I'm thinking after tip 1900 PF is going to go over $50 but the food was good and characters were fun.

On a solo trip maybe it would be nice to do something like Biergarten where you are seated with other people? It's fun and the food is always good. The community seating isn't for everyone but I enjoy it.

Captain's Grille has always had good food but no characters and is usually pretty easy to get into.

The menu is ribs, fried/grilled chicken, pulled pork, baked potato topping bar, mac n cheese, mash potatoes, corn, peel n eat shrimp, and more.

Dessert is great - ice cream with lots of toppings, bread pudding, cookies, pecan pie, cakes, and strawberry shortcake. I have notice the dessert change every time I go. They had a great mint brownie that was good with ice cream this last trip.

Video of the buffet I found:

I enjoyed the dining tour that usually start alittle before 4:00pm everyday. You meet outside of Boma and they take you to Boma and jiko. You get to know each restaurant and sample some of the foods.
