Need a referral for the current DVC purchase incentive?

If anyone needs a referral, I have an excellent guide and can contact him for you. He is very low pressure and great to work with. He is also a senior guide who has been there forever(well at least since 1999 when we became members).I was fortunate i got him.

I've been reading through the last few pages--is the incentive for the annual passes over? I spoke with my guide yesterday about purchasing, and there was no mention of annual passes, and our friends are listed as our referral. We are also wanting to do the 100 points at AKL, maybe that is why? Is it only for 160+ point purchases?

Are you trying to buy for the first time through Disney? If so, the minimum for a new purchase is 160 points. Right now, there is no extra incentive for referrals for the purchaser. Since you said you have a guide, it sounds like you are already a member. If you are doing an add-on, there is no incentive other than a points off when you buy a certain amount.

This would be a first time purchase--they have an incentive going on right now until Dec 1st for new member purchases of a 100 point minimum instead of the normal 160 to start. This would be at the $8 per point discount as well, for a total of $96 a point. We figured we might get in now at 100 points, and then we can always add on later!

That is very lucky that they are allowing such a low point purchase. I'd recommend buying the maximum you can afford now, because when you go back to buy later, the price will be much higher. Also, make sure you have enough points for the length of stay that'd you want. For some, 100 points would be way too little.

We purchased AKV Kidani and will be receiving the $500 Visa Gift Card from being referred by a member..

I heard though that that promotion expired I believe Sept. 20th or thereabouts...

I'm hearing that DVC has not renewed that promotion...I quite frankly am shocked with this economic downturn that it would not be offered as an incentive to purchase...Why would it have been offered July/August timeframe and not now?

I hope for potential new members that they bring it back to entice people to purchase! Also, nice on the other end for DVC members "spreading the good word"!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't heard anything, but like you, I feel DVC is going to have to come up with some pretty fantastic incentives to keep new money coming in. They've got a lot of irons in the fire right now and those projects need big $$$$$.

Hot news. I understand that DVC just annouced a new promo for purchasing BLT, offering developer points as well.
