Now that the time for our summer sojourn to CarsLand is quickly approaching, I need to get a few opinions. The closer I get, the less secure I am in two of my choices:
First of all, I have booked a 12:30 ADR at CCR for our arrival day. We typically plan a late breakfast/early lunch on the day we arrive, as we take the early flight from PDX to LGB and usually land and have our rental car by 10:15a.m. For instance, in May DH and I arrived, picked up the car, drove to the HoJo, received keys to our room, dropped off the luggage and we were in time for our 11:30a.m. res at Goofy's. I deliberately added an hour to our plan this trip since the crowds will be larger, but I am concerned that I haven't left enough time, mainly because we will have to visit a ticket booth to purchase a blockout pass for DS15, who has a DAP. Thoughts? Should I try to call and move the res a little? I don't want to end up in the park with three starving men glaring at me and blaming me for their empty stomachs, and I also don't want to miss our chance to try CCR. I should also note that this will be the first time we've flown in on a Saturday instead of a Thursday or Friday, so I'm not sure how traffic from LGB will be impacted.
Secondly, I need opinions about wardrobe. For any other time of the year, I know how to pack, but this is our first visit to Anaheim in July. I have packed only shorts, t-shirts, one pair of long pants each, and some light sweatshirts for each person. Is this realistic? We will be in the parks late several evenings, and I am worried that I am expecting the evenings to be warmer than they will be.
Also, with the recent weird weather, should I bring umbrellas? We always pack them, but at the moment they are stored in the closet, as I was relying on the average level of rain in July being virtually non-existent.
TIA!
