When we moved we left the "country" and the deer that ate my landscaping behind. We moved into a city and have a small woods behind us but it's in the middle of town so we didn't expect the coyotes, fox, and deer to be here. Anyway, the deer have left my landscaping alone so far...knock on wood....but we caught one eating the sunflower seeds out of the birdfeeder. I told it to shoo but as it hobbled away I realized it's lame. :guilty: It's front left leg is all curled up and it hobbles around on the other 3 legs. It's not very old because it still has the spots on it's back.
So now I've decided to keep filling the birdfeeder for it. And I need a name, just not Bambi! :) I won't touch the deer or try to tame it in any other way. I just think it deserves to have a treat of sunflower seeds when it wanders by.
Any names?

Bandi (that is what my 3 year old calls Bambi) ;)

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen?

EWWW! Yuck!
My in-laws have a hog farm. They got to steers and raised them for a few years. There names were "T-Bone" and "Char-broiled". :teeth:

Hey wait! Name the deer Rick! I don't have any kids and unless Joe and I have a miracle, we aren't gonna have any kids. Always wanted to have something named after me. Might as well be a deer.

How 'bout Sunflower? :sunny:
That was one I came up with! I also thought about Buck, but what if it's a doe?

Ok Rick- How 'bout Sunflower Rick?

Ann,
If it's a buck, it should have it's horns right now - although they might still be covered in velvet. Even if it's a young buck, it would have little nubbins.

I like the suggestion of Sunflower! :)

Nope, just Rick. But you can spell it Wryque if you wanted to make it a little artsy fartsy
But if I spell it Wryque it'll never be able to find those cute little magnets, bicycle license plates, or necklaces with it's name spelled right. :rotfl:

Then Rick it is!

I don't think that you should be feeding the deer. It's lame and you should let nature take it's course.
