Hey guys!! I just had a couple of questions about Disney Dining! First off.. we are going in March, but staying offsite in a vacation home! We opted to do this because we have a big family and it's cheaper this way for us, and this way we can utilize the kitchen and make our own food a lot so we don't have to spend a ton at restaurants. My questions are these.. can you make ADR's even if you aren't staying on site?! This may be a dumb question, but, although I've been to Disney many times, we have never done a sit down restaurant. I would really really like to eat at at least one while we are there though, I think my parents would really love it!! So that leads to my other questions.. what restaurants are not to be missed?? And what are the prices like for each?! We looked into the dining plan, but it just really doesn't work for our family. Thanks for any suggestions!! I love hearing everyone's opinions.:cool1:

Can you make ADR's even if you aren't staying on site?! YES!!!

So that leads to my other questions.. what restaurants are not to be missed?? Depends on what youre looking for, and what park you will be in. I say Le Cellier in Epcot or Coral Reef, Hollywood studios if you like fun and playful atmosphere 50's prime time or Sci Fi Dine In, Animal Kingdom I dont have much of an opinion on sit downs here although the Rainforest Cafe is cool and right outside of the Animal Kingdom gates. And last but not least there is Magic Kingdom they Have Cinderellas Royal Table (eat inside the castle), and Crystal Palace Buffet with Pooh and friends lol Good food but with characters.

And what are the prices like for each?! I say plan on around $30 per person at any of these places. This should cover drinks and the main meal.
Hope this helps you some. Good Luck!!

Yes, you can make reservations 90 days out. I've had lots of luck this week by reserving online. Menus with prices can be found on this site as well as All Ears. What not to miss? You'll just have to peruse the menus and see what appeals to you. Enjoy.

of notes:

1) You have to be staying at a Disney resort to get the dining plan so no issues there.

2) You can make ADRs. Since you are off-site you will be able to make them starting on 10/27. The current rule is that you can make them 90 days in advance, but on 10/27 it changes to 180 days. All of March becomes available at the same time.

3) As to don't miss restaurants, opinions vary greatly. People expect different things from a dining experience. California Grill, Artist Point and Flying Fish are signature restaurants that I like. They tend to be a bit more expensive and have their own theming - not necessarily Disney. Biergarten is one of my favorites for food and atmosphere. It's a buffet and seating is often communal style with most tables having eight seats. Lunch will be cheaper than dinner but will be missing a couple of items. Crystal Palace is a character meal buffet. You can pick up more of the Disney theme from the Pooh characters and I have always found plenty that I like on the buffet. Ohana wold be another option.

I think an easy place for people to get familiar with the TS locations is on another site. It groups reviews by restaurant. The top of the page has a link to the menu where you can get an idea of types and prices of foods.

We loved everywhere we ate on our last trip. We had CRT breakfast, CP lunch, Sci Fi lunch, Maya Grill dinner, Plaza lunch and Coral Reef dinner. the meals are pretty expensive, especially if you get dessert. Check out the menus on allears like some of the above posters recommended.

Thank you all so much!! Those were great suggestions!! And thanks for pointing me in the right direction of menus and such!! I can't wait to surprise my parents with dinner one night!!
