We're expecting to get to the hotel early on our first day. I know the room won't be ready yet, so I'm wondering how do you experts prepare? I know we can leave our luggage and go to the park until our room is ready, so what items should I have handy so I'm not digging through luggage in the hotel lobby?

Park tickets, sunglasses...anything else?

Thanks for any input, I don't want to start off all stressed out :scared:

This is our usual situation. We put our "day of" clothes/sunblock, etc either in a carry on or on top in our suitcase for easy access. Change in the bathrooms in the lobby.

I always have my sunglasses, some motion sickness meds, money, tickets and ID.

We put swimsuits in one carry-on bag and change in the lovely locker rooms by the pool. Hanging by the pool and having a frosty beverage is a wonderful way to kick-off your vacation while you wait for your room to be ready.

Look your luggage over carefully and document it before checking it with bell services. My wife checked a beautiful brand new retro PAN AM bag last year and RPR gouged the &%$# out of it. Took them 10 days to admit guilt and reimburse us.

I always take a pic of my stored items with valet in the picture
It's time and date stamped

Not had any damage but understand some have had to deal with luggage issues

I always make a request for early arrival, and sometimes the room is ready very early (depends on time of year and sheer luck)

doesn't hurt to drop the hotel a message.

if room is not ready, then others have given good advice.
