I just need it for one day mid-week. What is the best way in going about getting one? I signed up for the free upgrade on Allearsnet.com. I think that is National--but it's very possible I'm wrong--time change and all;) . Any info would be great.

Will you be at a WDW resort? It's very easy to pick up from National/Alamo at the Dolphin.

I just rented a minivan for 2 days (Tues-Thurs) in December for $69.20 thru Dollar using code OCVB.
Goodluck.

Thanks for the code and the info. Do you know if you can call ahead? And do I call the company or online. Are there any that can pick me up? I'm staying at POFQ. I could take the boat to Downtown Disney. AAAAhhhh. What to do. Obviously haven't done this at WDW before.

Is the car rental place still at WDW? We used it a few years ago when we took a side trip to Cape Canaveral/Kennedy Space Center. They sent a van to our resort to pick us up and take us to the rental agency on Disney property (I think it was National), and then when we returned the car, the van drove us back to the resort.

Many of the nearby rental companies will pick you up from your resort so you don't have to schlep out to Hotel Blvd if you want to rent from Dollar/Hertz/etc. I found it easier to get to the Dolphin at my own pace and convenience. I simply left AK one afternoon and took the resort bus to the Dolphin. Dropping off was every easier, the valet simply took the car from me and I met my family in MGM.

You can look over at Mousesavers (www.mousesavers.com) for discount rental codes.

Thanks for your answers. I was under the impression that there was still a car rental--National--I think, based on Deb Will's site. Maybe I will just call National directly.

OK--I was wrong--I'm thinking of mousesavers.com, not allearsnet.com.

I actually went online to dollar.com and tried that. I believe my reservation said that they have complimentary shuttle pickup that you would need to schedule with Dollar. It gives you a number to call for that.
Hope this helps!

There are TWO National/Alamo car rental places on WDW property. One at the Car Care Center near the MK and the other at the Dolphin. If you rent from the CC you will have to be picked up and dropped off.

Thanks again for all of the quick replies. It got me motivated to just book National from the Dolphin. I will call directly to see if they have a pick up or if I have to make other arrangements.

RobinB--according to mousesavers.com, the Car Care Center rental agency closed in January. I don't know if this is correct or not, but that's what it says.

Wow--I only have 9 more days!!:yay:

This is true - but Alamo is still at the CCC - Alamo and National have the same ownership but Alamo is the "official" rental agency for WDW now. So you could rent from Alamo and still pick up on site.
