Need a beach blanket for Castaway Cay?

I’m starting to pull together a packing list for my cruise (in 12 days ). It’ll be our first time flying in for a cruise so I’m trying to bring less stuff, ha. Normally when I go to the beach I bring a beach blanket, and I brought one when we cruised to Bermuda for beach excursions. This will be our first time to Castaway Cay. Do you think there’s enough chairs that we won’t need the beach blanket? We’ll be on the Dream over Easter, so I think it’s a pretty full ship. We will almost certainly not make it to Serenity Bay, so asking more about the family beach.

There are plenty of chairs, hammocks and beach towels available. You can grab several towels even.

If you are going to Serenity Bay (Adult Beach) and don't get off early, there may be chairs only WAY down the beach. That was our experience in Jan. After walking about 1/2 way down the beach, we asked someone working there if there were any chairs further down. He said, yes, all the way down. My bad knee was not going to allow me to walk any further, so we turned around and enjoyed the ship.

We live on the East Coast and can go to any number of beautiful beaches any sunny day in the summer, so Castaway Cay is not amazing to us. The ship, on the other hand, is a novelty.

Our experiences differ. There are only a few hammocks on the family beach, and one or two on the adult beach. It’s possible that you might find one free, even if you get off the ship a little later, but there are certainly not very many of them.

There's also a lot of chaise lounge.

If all the chairs were taken at cc, then I’ll go back to the ship. Except Serenity, there are always chairs available on the family beaches.

A beach bag is nice though. It's handy for CC, other shore excursions involving water, and just heading to the pool with all of your stuff.

Good point. Planning on taking the bag, leaving the blanket.
