I'm from Morehead City area and was in NYC last month- a woman I met was so excited that I was from NC coast and kept saying I must know where she summered last year- "the place that the locals pronounce it different than you would think!" but she couldn't remember. She emailed the message later- COROLLA! (btw, she loved it!).
How do you pronounce Corolla?

Thank you! I would have done the obvious and pronounced it like the car so now I can do it correctly. I have a friend who lives near Conetoe which is pronounced Ka nee ta- you can imagine how tired she is of hearing it called Cone Toe!

We are from Kannapolis!!! I have lived in many places in NC and I LOVE this state. We got the mountains, the beaches, can drive to Disney within a day or fly in a couple of hours!!!

So Cool to see so many of us here! We're in Cameron ( right off HWY 87, half way between Fayetteville & Sanford and a hop skip jump to Cary, Raleigh, Fuquay-Varina) & We are NEW DVC owners!
