Looks like it and it wasn't because the bubble failed which is what people were concerned about. Who would have thought that? The NBA/MLS bubbles at WDW both worked great after they got players in them.

Not to mention the NHL bubble has also been perfect since the players got in those bubble cities. So bubbles work for sports.

Yep and a lot of credit to WDW for being able to pull off two bubbles for two different sports and make them work. I know people didn't like some things like the blue fence but you can't say they didn't work.

Or no one takes a salary hit and the billionaires who own these teams can use the oversized political influence their wealth buys them to advocate for change from the politicians that will listen to them. Plenty of these players throw money at these problems on their own already.

That is the best way the owners can help. Most of these owners have governers and congressman and senators on speeddial and know how to get laws pushed through. They have the influence to help. Just throwing money at things doesn't do a lot.

Pretty much. Sounds like the meeting tonight was a time for the players to get a chance to vent some which we all need from time to time. Tomorrow especially after the BOG meeting and players getting a chance to sleep on things hopefully will be room to figure out a path forward.

From this article from 2017 there was a $20M players pool for the playoffs so the champs get $3.3M to divide amoung the players. Likely a higher number now but may have been adjusted for this weird season.

That's actually not much money vs their salaries...now I can see why the players will risk that. It seems if the playoffs ends early, it's the owners (for now) that will get financially screwed, not really the players...

Yeah, I think it is wise that they did not make any final decisions tonight. Cancel the games tomorrow, sleep on it, think about ways to stay and leverage power and whether that would be enough. Being in the Bubble also gives them the unique opportunity to all be in one place and one room to hash this out - in a regular playoff scenario they would all be scattered across the country in groups of two teams. Watching some of the player vlogs from earlier in the bubble they were already using the environment to have a lot of important conversations within their teams. I think they have a ton of power in this setting and there is likely a lot they can ask for and get to amplify their message if they stay. But having said all that, I understand if they ultimately don’t feel like that is enough and decide to leave.
