Navy Seal Chases Down the Killers of his dog.

Sweet. You'd only be killing at least two innocent individuals. Judge, jury , and executioner all in one.

This type of justice is what can't be tolerated.

If you are with a criminal, you are just as guilty. I wouldn't say the people with him are innocent as they did nothing to stop him.

Then they could have driven to the nearest police station. They weren't fleeing for their lives, they were fleeing from justice and the law.

I didn't know you were there and participated in the chase, arrest and interviews. You clearly know more that what was linked in the story.

Please share.

Maybe in your mind, but not in the eyes of the legal system. And for good reason. Being present at the scene of a crime is not, in and of itself, a crime. Sorry.

Geez - come on. Are you serious???

Good Lord. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

He could have been arrested and charged on the spot. No one knew who he was or his background. As far as anyone knew he was a guy who was chasing bad guys. That is the info that they acted upon; when they dispatched a cruiser and when they encountered him at the arrest stop.

Certified war hero and author in your small town and you don't know who he is??? Not likely. How do you know they didn't know who he was? More inside information, or just more innacurate assumptions?

You're completley wrong. You think they didn't pass one single person or car in this??? Really?? Nope, there were plenty of innocent folks encountered in a 40 mile chase. The number is not relevant, one is enough.

This chase happened in public, on public roads.

He wasn't arrested becuase of the bad PR it was worth, nothing more. It was still wrong.

That's a pretty bold statement. Were you there? I think not. So where do you get off making assumptions? Speaking of "judge, jury and executioner", I think that you have been a little to quick to be judging and condeming without the facts.

TC.

Really??

A civilian engaged in a high sped chase on public streets for over 40 miles. Speeds over 110 mph.
Vehicle not designed for pursuits.
No emergency lights and sirens.
Armed civilian is doing the chasing of 4 armed (presumed, was a gun recovered?) susepcts.

Nope. No assumptions. These facts are enough for a judgement.

nevermind... not worth the points.....
Good, then refrain from sending me anymore private messages! BTW Nice job editing this post.

It would be fine with me to murder those 4 people. They add nothing to society. Today they're killing dogs, tomorrow it'll be people. And then everyone will wonder 'what happened" and say "we had no way to predict they'd do this".

And since there were no bystanders at 2 am, whose lives was he endangering?
Were you there? You assume all 4 killed the dog. You assume there were no bystanders. Unless you were there during the whole chase you don't know all the facts.

You are comparing four men who entered private property and committed a crime to a young man who responded to that crime and gave chase. There were no "innocent bystanders". It was 2 am on in a very rural area of Texas. You can't compare that area to downtown L.A or suburban Baltimore. There is no comparison, nor do they have the same "cultural sensitivities". If Texas saw the world as you see the world, he would have been arrested. He wasn't.

All 4 were on his property? All 4 committed a crime? All four shot the dog? All 4 drove the vehicle? No innocent bystanders? You were there and witnessed the whole chase? I said the dispatcher should have been reprimanded for not telling him to back off, I never said he should be arrested.

Then they could have driven to the nearest police station. They weren't fleeing for their lives, they were fleeing from justice and the law.
Nearest police station????? You just said above it was a very rural area of Texas.

:thumbsup2 Yes Someone show us the chase route, give us the FACTS.

What you call facts others refer to as fantasy. You just don't have one hard fact to support your position so you must throw out a whole bunch of "what ifs" and other assumptions. It really doesn't add to your argument. Oh well, at least you are entertaining!

Huh???

All of the things I base my opinion on seem to be well reported facts. Let me know what is inaccurate.

Sorry, no "what ifs".

You are now seeing why he was not charged with anything.
The police and the DA both know that getting 12 people to agree to a guilty verdict would be completely impossible.

I agree, there would be little chance of convicting him. It's called jury nullification.

That doesn't change the fact that he used horrible judgement by engaging in the pursuit, and doesn't make it any less criminal.

WOW !!!! For those that say he was way out of line.... consider that being a war veteran isn't a piece a cake and people with PTSD can SNAP very easily. He could have KILLED people here and it wouldn't have been that hard for him to do. I think he should be REWARDED for controlling himself. I don't care what the rest of you think. I have SEEN what WAR can DO to men, let alone a NAVY SEAL!!! OMG MY hubby was in the gulf war, operation preying mantis and has some issus. My ex was in 3 tours of this iraq and he cant be scared from behind or he freeks and has a bit of anger stuff. my hubbys uncle slept with a gun under his pellow his WHOLE life, my uncle was an alcoholic because of his and died of it AND of agent orange related cancer. There are people I know that snap easy and you have to just deal with it as that is what war does. I say again... bravo to him holding himself back... let people be worried be about speeding.... lol heck I do that a lot lol... as long as every one is ALIVE

Sorry, no "what ifs".

So what you are saying is that you have no foundation to your argument and that you will continue to deflect the issue by stating that those opposed to your opinion are wrong. No problem - I can respect that. At least I can take pleasure in knowing that you have no influence in this case and that the innocent will not be inappropriately prosecuted because you felt endangered by their actions to protect the rest of us.

Thanks Marcus. Your calm and rational actions in this instance are a credit to yourself and your unit. :thumbsup2

I feel for the guy, and all that find themselves in similar situations.

However, that does not change anything. Given the totality of the circumstances, as they have been presented, he shouldn't have done what he did.
